Need your prayers again. I'm not ready to say goodbye

A very brief update because I just got home, am starving and need to get my shoes off......she's much more alert, much more coherent....not great yet, but better.  The renal specialist came to see her today, Dr. Dork actually called him in, and is going to play with her meds a bit, has her scheduled for a kidney ultra sound in the AM, and she ate a good dinner......a virtual feast compared to the next to nothing she has been eating.  So, I'm encouraged.  Sis happened to be there when the specialist was and HE doesn't seem to think things are hopeless, so we're all encouraged.

So glad that things are sounding more optimistic.  She's in the right place to get this taken care of and hopefully they'll figure out what's causing the problem.  I'm sure you'll rest easier tonight knowing things are more stable [:)].

[:D]Excellent!!...glad that you are getting another opinion on things.  Now go eat...you need to take care of yourself (and stay away from your sister that has the flu![;)])

The last thing to emerge from Pandora's Box was Hope Eternal, without which Man has nothing.

It sounds like good news to me. Re-crossing paws and fingers and toes.

    Good!  That is good news.

I'm glad the specialist doesn't think things are as dire as Dr Dork (love that, BTW!).  Keeping you all in my thoughts.  (((hugs))) for all of you.

Morning update....the BP is steadily going down....last two readings were in the 130-140 range so MUCH better than it has been!  The sodium is UP to 120 (should be 35-145) but was 80 when she was admitted.....the renal guy *thinks* that her diuretic might be causing the sodium to drop, which is of course, dangerous.

I spoke to her briefly this morning......much more coherent and said that she feels a LOT better this morning.  I gotta say, you guys are a pretty powerful bunch of pray-ers!  Thank you all, and please keep it up!

Her short term memory is the pits right now, and that worries me, but she's eating, she looks better and seems to feel much better today.  She's tired, but, hospitals are NOT a good place to rest.

She's telling everyone who will listen that DS saved her life by making her go in....and she's probably right.

I'm not sure that we'll have her for very many more months and that really hurts, but I'd like what time she DOES have left to be time that she can LIVE and enjoy.
