The drivers, servers, motel maids, ect. don't mind getting tips in US $.   Bring your own shampoo, ect. All of the hotels I stayed at didn't give you those kinds of things like here. BUG SPRAY. I got eaten. Also make a little medicine bag...Immodium, Tylenol, Benadryl, that kind of thing. HAND SANITIZER is another must-bring.   A camera. It is beautiful.   You only need to know one phrase...cervasa, por favor! (beer, please!) • dasher Posted : 11/13/2006 8:38:56 PM I was there last spring, beautiful country. We stayed about 1.5 hours from the airport, over the mountains on the coast. The resort is called [linkhttp://www.lossuenosresort.com/]Los Suenos Resort[/link]. The drive was horrendous, but it was worth it as the resort was beautiful and the town of Jaco was great. [] We did some sailfish fishing (catch and release) while we were there and the fishing was great!! Also saw some alligators at an alligator preserve, very cool. It was hot as heck when we were there in April, not sure what the weather will be like this time of year. []   I am staying one night in San Jose, Costa Rica...then driving to the Arenal Volcano which is like in the middle of the country for a couple nights...and the going to the West Coast in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. I am so excited!! Then on my way home I get to go to Miami, Florida and stay a night there.
