Severe Injury....

Hey all...
I haven't been on in a few days because at the end of last week I was bit in the face and have a pretty severe eye injury.

I was working with an aggressive dog (as I often do) and caught a bite across my right eye. It left a pretty significant rip in my cornea. I have been in the hospital all weekend and they finally let me have my laptop today.

...your prayers would be greatly appreciated. A blind dog trainer might be a hard sell to new clients.

Gosh mic, my prayers are with you! My brother stuck a wooden kite pole in his eye when he was 5(that was 23 years ago). He had some surgery and a patch on his eye. But he mended pretty well and now only has slightly worse vision than he probably would have had already(everyone in my family has glasses). So that being over 20 years ago, I would imagine they can do much more now. Never a fun thing though. Hope you're not in too much pain.

Thanks everyone. The main concern is that the injury is to the center of my cornea and they are worried about scaring blocking portions of my vision. It is feeling better today...yesterday was BAD! But this morning the pain is much less intense.

Oh Mic you are in my prayers, I am so sorry this happened to you. Is there anything they can do about scarring in the center of the eye if indeed it does occur? What about the face around the eye, how much damage? I am sure they are being hyper vigilant about infection, keep up informed.

Oh Mic, so sorry to hear this.
When I was 21, I was putting up an oak door and for some dumb reason I was holding the screw driver tip towards me. The door fell and the driver went into my eye and I was lucky I didn't lose my eye. My cornea is badly scarred and I have very little vision in that eye. I cannot wear a contact because my eye is no longer round.
I hope that things go well for you and that the damage isn't to severe.
It is amazing the technology they have these days to repair this sort of injury.

Wow Mic - so sorry to hear about this. I can imagine how frightening it must've been and painful too. Sending good wishes that the eye heals well. Nice to find that you can still check in with the forum [
