And I thought I was the only one that liked "Rocka Rolla"

     Oh My!!!

     Sad Wings Of Destiny,Rocka Rolla,Sin After Sin,The Killing Machine(Hell Bent For Leather),British Steel,Point of Entry,Stained Class,Screaming for Vengence,,

    These are my favorites...

Ever look closely at the cover of Stained Class..The whole album(and cover)tell an interesting story..

I was lucky enogh to see them in concert from the front row on 2 occasions, once in 82 and the other time in 86...they put on a great show.

Just thinking about the music makes my bllod turn hot..[;)]

    Ron,are you a priest fan?

Most definitely. For one thing, I like classical music. For another, I appreciate good opera singers. Halford could sing opera if he so desired. He has matured as a singer over the years. During their beginning, which had influences of glam, Halford stayed in the high end of tenor. Once learned to throw in a few lower notes for flavor and character, the music evolved. He learned to sing a little lower because some songs do require a darker tone for the effect.

The Beavis and Butthead head-bobbing comes directly from Glen Tipton and K.K. Downing. I have a video of their 1987 show in Dallas at Reunion Arena. It started out nice and easy with "Out in the Cold."

And others that are an anthem for the youth.

    "There I was completely wasting,
    Out of work and down.
All inside it's so frustrating as
I drift from town to town.

You don't know what it's like,
    You don't have a clue.
If you did you'd find yourself
    Feeling the same things, too.

    Breakin' the law ...."

    Man!!

I have always said Halfords voice was probably the best in rock,blues,metal...his range is just incredible.

Of the albums i mentioned before, there is not one song i dislike.

i have always loved "The Ripper"Not only for the
great vocals, but the lyrics and bieng a ripper historain doesnt hurt either.

Epitaph really shows a good vocal range,i i sing that one alot when i am alone..lol

Last Rose Of Summer ..God,,i could go on and on...i am going to have to throw some discs in the player tonight..

I have a phonograph of Judas Priest doing a live version of "Johnny B Good" I like it so much, I would play that version instead of Chuck Berry's original arrangement.

    • Gold Top Dog
when they came out with defenders of the faith(except for a couple tracks)and Turbo (God help me)Lover,i stopped buying the albums..Just couldnt get into the new sounds...

    • Gold Top Dog
OT, (even more so), that reminds me. I might have been one of the few people that actually bought the "A" album by Jethro Tull. It was departure from their usual arrangement and style but nearly as bad for them as the disco album was for KISS.

    • Gold Top Dog
i just saw where kiss is releasing a new dvd with (i think) 5 different concerts from the mid-late seventies. might be worth a look.
    • Gold Top Dog
i have seen kiss 3 times, and every time the act was the same..lol

they are sahowing a full 1976 concert at a local movie theater up here...that would be fun to see i guess..
    • Gold Top Dog
i have not ever seen them live. my brother went a few years ago when they did a reunion type tour. not sure how long ago it was, but wasnt that long ago.

i am not much of a concert goer. the last one i went to was john spencer blues explosion back in the mid-90's. was a good show, but the venue kinda sucked.
    • Gold Top Dog
Still the best live show to date that I've seen was Aerosmith's "pump" tour, followed closely by Ozzy.   Though I never made it to an Iron Maiden concert...alas my misspent youth.
    • Gold Top Dog
I was lucky enough to see the Screaming for Vengence tour with Iron Maiden as the openers...I think it was Number of the Beast or Killers(2 of my favorites by Maiden)but this was back in 82,so cant quite remember..lol

I saw Ozzy when Randy Rhodes was still alive for the Blizzard of Oz tour.It ranks as one of my all time favorites.Saw him 3 times in almost 15 years..

Another favorite was seeing the Born Again tour by Black Sabbath with Ian Gillian(singer for Deep Purple). That show was incredible..all the encores were Deep Purple tunes..

Mettalica i saw 3 times,Ride the Lightning, master of Puppets, and i forget which one in the 90's...great show..CLIFF EM ALL!

I have seen alot of others in the eightees, ninetees, but these are my favorites..

always wanted to see Pink Floyd,Blue Oyster Cult and a few others...never got around to it.
    • Gold Top Dog
Wow I suck.  I got like 3 I think.  Poison, Motley Crue, Skid Row and I kind of guessed Warrant but I guessed them for 2 other picks too.
    • Gold Top Dog
    Iron Maiden

    "White man came
    Across the sea.
    Bringing pain
    And misery.

    Run to the hills,
    Run for your life."

i saw BOC at a free concert put on by one of the local classic rock stations. im sure they werent all original members since one guy looked awful young, but it was still a good time. kenny wayne shepherd band was there too they rocked, and deep purple too, we didnt stick around long enough to see them bomb.
    • Gold Top Dog
    deep purple

I'm a fan of the old stuff with Ian Gillan. Trivia, in the movie "Jesus Christ, Superstar" Ted Neely played the title role but the voice in the songs is Ian Gillan.
