It's snowing!

    It's snowing!

Yep. First frost was Sept. 25, and four days later, Sept. 29 here we are with snow falling. It won't stick, it's mixed with rain a bit, but yep, it's snow sure enough!

    How do I know?

Well, when it lands on Sofia's back it turns her white for a while. [;)]

We had a good Fall, a nonexistent summer, and now here comes Winter.

Lord make Freeze up a QUICK thing! I HATE black ice!

And I put my snow tires on the truck last weekend. I am so S-M-R-T! :::singing like Homer:::

I can't wait until we have snow I love the stuff just not the cold weather that goes with it.  Blue says if you get six inches of the white stuff he wants to come up your way to play in it.

    This evening...

We'll be lucky to get a few flurries in January.  Personally, I LOVE snow!  Maybe it's because we don't get so much of it here in Tennessee.  On average, I'd say it snows (with accumulation) maybe two or three times a year.  We have flurries often enough, but never a "real snow".  I can remember the "Blizzard of '93", though!  Now that was a very serious (and wickedly crippling) amount of snow for this area.  While I'd love to have a nice snow, I do not want a repeat of that -- ever again.

It snows/ices so rarely in TX that when it does, all authority freaks out and it's as if the world shuts down. And of course nobody knows how to drive in the ice, so people are slamming on their breaks and skidding in to the side-rails.
(I'm  a good little NY girl and I know to take yer foot OFF the brake if you start to slip!)

It snowed in Colorado where my parents live last week. Nothing much stuck, but it was coming down pretty good.

Here in WA, we don't get much snow. The mountains do, but not in the city. Last year we got a whopping 2 inches that melted off right away and that was big news. Loki sure loved it though. He sat in the yard all day eating snowflakes.

Someday we'll move back to Colorado and the dogs will be in heaven. Elkhounds were built for snow not rain! [:D]

Well, contrary to what we all thought, it's sticking! And it's still coming down, too. I just took Sofie for her First-Snow-of-the-Year walk and she had to do her Happy Dog Dance. I love it when she does that!

We have about a half inch, maybe an inch now. And it's still snowing. Did I say that? It's still freaking snowing....

And we're expecting 90's this weekend and the rest of the week.

People around here don't know how to drive. They always do the exact opposite of what they are supposed to do. It would be comical if it weren't so damaging and dangerous.

Beautiful pictures, Jean!  I just pictured Sofia doing her Happy Dog Dance in the snow and it made ME happy!!

Yep, here we are still in the 80's or so, we would be lucky if we even get an inch of snow at all during the year.  Thats too bad because I love the snow.

I just love thoes pics!  I've never been in AK  in the winter but call me crazy, I would really like to go there sometime during the coldest darkest time of the year.

Jean, You beat us this year! [:DEnjoy your snowy walk!

I thought we were going to get snow two weeks ago, it got down to 22' degrees, and we had freezing rain. This morning it's 85' degrees. We have the oddest weather, and everyone says "If you don't like the weather in SD, wait five minutes and it will change."[8D]

Karin, yeah, it's Bizarro Weather this year in Alaska.

LisaMarie, Sofia did her Happy Snow Dance yet again this morning!

Here's what I woke up to:
