Here we go again, more prayers needed

Glenda - I'm just seeing this but I'm sorry to hear that your mom's back in the hospital.  It must be frightening to see her BP spike so high.  Fortunately, it sounds like they're considering something more than more or different meds.  My dad used to get pretty negative when he was having medical problems and sometimes it just helps to listen to them and not feel like we have to convince them they're wrong.  I know that's hard and I wasn't very good at it, but I found that if I discounted what he'd say, he'd just clam up.  I'm sure he was thinking that I (or anyone) couldn't possibly understand.  Sadly, he was probably right.

Anyway - sending prayers and healing thoughts your way for your mom and for your family.

Oh gracious.  Sis called a few minutes ago to give me the new phone number since they put Mother in a different room.  Said that they are putting in her pacemaker on Wednesday.  Strangely, Mother said NOTHING to me about that, but did tell me that they were going to discuss it and determine if it needs to be done. Told Sis that it's set for Wednesday but doesn't know when.  Since I have a doctors appointment on Wednesday morning myself, I called to check with the nurse and see if she could give me a time and there is nothing in her chart about it.  The doc did note that it might be beneficial but left no orders and hasn't determined if they are going to do it or not.  She told my sister yesterday that the cardiologist had told her she needed a pacemaker, but I was THERE when he was and I didn't hear a word about it......this is frustrating.

I know the confusion is worrysome; we went through that with my MIL when she was in the hospital, along with the depression. She was born in 1901 and thought that you didn't go to the hospital unless you were going to die; we finally convinced her that wasn't the case. Once they get her BP under control the confusion should be better; it may be caused by insufficient blood flow to the brain; have you asked the doctors what causes it? I'm praying for her and sending you <<>>. Let us know what they decide about the pacemaker.

Well, the confusion wasn't Mom's it was my sisters.  SIS misundertood and told me wrong.

BUT, the pacemaker IS going to be installed tommorow morning at 8AM so I'd sure appreciate prayers that it goes well AND does the job they want it to do......

I'm glad to hear your mother is doing well enough to go ahead with the pace maker procedure.  My FIL had one put in, and it helped him - we always wondered why they didn't do it for him sooner.  Hopefully your Mom will see benefits right away, too!

It went WELL!!  Her BP did not spike during the procedure and it's stayed pretty good all day so far.  Last reading I was there for was 110/60......I'm sure MINE isn't that low!  She said that she felt more alert than she has in WEEKS.  I've gotta say, I'm glad one of us does!  I was up at 4:30 and at the hospital for 8 hours before I finally came home.  I'm beat....and feeling rather muddled.
