I hope you are okay! This is awful! Such a violation! I hope they catch the &^%^ that did this to you!

i am so so sorry to hear this.  I know the feeling of being violated, and just plain freaked out.  I wasn't robbed in person, but my car was broken into (very different, I know) and a lot of things were taken.  That feeling is one that is just terrible,  and you are feeling fear on top of it.

I am sending good vibes your way, and I have confidence that things will work out.

Please be very careful, and take all the necessary precautions.

I am just glad you ar eOK.  I agree with you--take a self defense course NOW, or at least get your brother to give you some pointers.  I will list a few that my dad, a Marine (ret.) gave me:

Don't bother trying to knee him in the balls.  Most bad guys expect that. Instead, kick him on the side of the knee (where the cruiate ligament is).  He will go down quickly.

If he comes up and grabs you from behind, stomp down on his instep.  It hurts like He-- and he WILL let go.

You can pop an eyeball with just a few pounds of pressure.

If you're going to hit him, don't bother with the face.  Hit him in the THROAT. If he is unable to breath, he will let go in a hurry.

Keys are a great self defense tool.  Put them between your fingers and jab his eyes with them.

Act like an idiot--literally.  If you do very well at attracing attention, he will be in the limelight, something he definitely does NOT want.  If all else fails, start taking your clothes off. He may be so startled that he drops your wallet--grab it and run!

If he tries to get in the car with you, floor it and go.  Don't worry about hurting him; he was just trying to grab YOU.

Lastly, there is no item so valuable that it's worth you life.

Thank you all for caring and hugging me, I felt them all.
The detectives just left along with the identification unit. They took pictures of my injuries, I also have a big scratch along my collar bone, must have got it from buttholes ring. My face is sore from where he pummeled me but it's okay.
The good news is that they caught one of the guys. They wouldn't tell me which one but I'm sure it is the driver because they had the licence number. They also said that they released him which leads me to believe that he ratted on his buddy. They also asked me for the demonination of the bills he took, like I really remember that one. Again that leads me to believe that they found it on him.
They didn't want to give me much detail, they said they don't want to jepordize(sp) the case but that it is going extremely well. I guess I will be able to see this SOBs face when we go to court.
I have to go tomorrow and change all of the locks since my keys were in my purse. Oh, I asked them if they found my purse and again was told that they can't tell me. To many secrets for my liking but I guess they have their reasons.
I am still really freaked out. I went around and locked all of the windows and doors. I hate doing this because I am making the kids feel like they are in a prison. The dogs have missed there walk tonight and seem to be wound up. I am afraid to go out for our evening stroll. I feel so messed up. I know I won't sleep tonight, I've got the ebygeebies and I have one whopper of a headache. I have to make a Drs appointment tomorrow.
Anyway, sorry to ramble. Just wanted to share the good news.
    Thanks again
Debbie R, thank you. I have Dylan, Bianca and Sierra(my human kids) plus the five furbabies here with me so I should be okay. If anyone tries to break in the doggies will make lots of racket plus Dylan is armed for war. He collects swords so he is my fearless warrior. I hate having to put my kids through such unnecessary fear. [:o]

Lena I hope your nerves are steadying slowly! I'd be a wreck for DAYS! Make sure if you start feeling and post traumatic stress stuff you ask for support....even from us! I got  abit of that after a car wreck years ago..snuck up on me slow!

I am glad you are okay physically and I am sure justice will be served because Karma is a female dog!
    • Gold Top Dog
Lena, is there a way you could go to a hotel tonight? Doing locks etc won't help if he has the keys. I may be worrying overmuch but...you are the ONLY witness and if he's not IN CUSTODY....well...

Are they watching your house at least? the cops?

MAN!  Thank goodness those witnesses chased and tracked those guys.  I'm quite sure they found him/them, and you'll get some level of justice.  Not like it never happened, but something to say that at least the police have him/them in their radar.

I hope you're feeling better now or soon.  You deserve respect for holding up under all that.  Sending you respect, and peaceful energy to move through this gracefully.

I hope you're feeling well in the morning.   I wouldn't worry.  If there's a possibility the police will find out who he is, the last place he'd go is anywhere near you.  Feel better.

I'm so sorry to hear what has happen to you and glad you are ok. Hope your nerves slowly calm down and it's going to take you a while to feel ok again. Glad to hear the cops got good leads and it does sound like they have that scumbag.

Sending you big hugs and Blue would be happy to go after that guy for hurting you.

How scary!  I'm glad you're okay and it looks like someone will be charged with this.

Gina, I have deadbolts on the doors plus I have locked the outer doors so I think we are pretty secure.
For some reason the detectives don't think I should worry to much and told me to put my trust in them. I guess I really should because they have been working overtime on this one and have gotten good results so far.
Besides, my brother keeps calling me to see how I'm doing. I had to kinda laugh when the detective said that they hope they get him before my brother does. They use to work with him before he went into the intelligence division and they said that he is someone you don't want to mess with. To look at him, he scares the crap out of you but he is really just a big ol teddy bear. Love that brother of mine.

Me again. I forgot to mention that in Canada when someone is charged with robbery, it includes a violent offence which brings a sentence of 7 to 15 years.
I am really bothered by the fact that the detectives said that this is a big time problem in this city and that it occurs quite often in broad daylight. Maybe there is a support group in town considering this happens so often. I'd like to know why we don't hear about this stuff on our news channel, would make women a bit more careful.

There goes my idealistic vision of Canada being a "safe" place. [:o]
