FALL is Coming!!!

I guess one thing that is making my day brighter is the weather is cooler today. I have jeans on and a sweater. I love it!!  The smell of fall, candy apples, colored leaves.  Halloween is just around the corner. Kids are back in school in 6 days. Camp fires in the fall are the best. I am walking again, and I am enjoying it. I am not sweating my butt off.

Just thought maybe you'd like to share your favorite things about this time of year.

Oh and I thought I'd share some pics of my flower bed. I love mums and they should be opening any time now.

I LOVE fall!

It is my favorite time of year.  It was raining and stormy last night and really chilly.  DH, Daisy, Duke & I cuddled up on the couch and watch a movie with a glass of wine, (Daisy & Duke had water).  So relaxing!  I too can't wait until halloween.

Ahhhh.... Fall.......[:)]

Edited to add.... I love your garden! Its really beautiful.

I *love* fall too.  The foliage in upstate New York is just beautiful.... and though I don't live there anymore (Im a brooklynite now) my family is still there!

I love the smell of the fall air, the briskness, and wearing scarves!  I love apples, and just everything!

This thread has put me in a great mood!

Fall is gonna be great! Pumpkins and turkey and homecomming. Oh my! It felt good to let the dogs out at 6am and it be a little bit brisk outside. (versus hot and muggy and gross!). I may go running tomorrow morning. I couldn't do that in the summer-time.
     No more triple digits!!

Alieliza, what part of upstate NY are you from? I grew up in Syracuse. I miss apple-picking in the fall.

I used to hate fall. I know, crazy, but I did. My favorite season growing up was Summer and then Spring. I loved the heat and all the fun activities that came along with hot weather. However, over the past few years, I've grown an entirely new appreciation for Fall and it's taken over as my season. I absolutely love how beautiful it gets with the leaves and the trees. The crispness in the air, when it's cold enough to need a sweater, but not freezing enough to wear big, huge coat. I love the fall breeze and the smell of fires burning in people's home. I love being able to walk Ash at 5 pm instead of having to wait until 9 or 10 pm. I love being able to make the annual trip to Apple Hill (here in CA), where Christmas trees are cut down and apples are in abundance. You can get anything made with apples at Apple Hill and it's just wonderful. I love the clear skies and the the general cozy feeling that Fall brings. It's beautiful.

I've been in sweaters for a week.  I love it, fall is definitely my favourite time of year.  Trampling through the leaves, having nice fresh seasonal apples and squashes to cook with, and really appreciating crawling into my nice warm bed at night, instead of feeling too hot and miserable to sleep.

Hot spiced apple cider, anyone?  It's homemade.

It IS Fall here. The aspens and birches are starting to loose their leaves already! Bright yellow leaves are swirling... The geese are flying South, the sandhill cranes, too. :-(

Most of the raptors fly south as well, but yesterday I saw an OSPREY carrying a fish right in town by the Chena River! It made my day.

Fall is the moose getting very active and people going out to hunt. The bears are doing a last minute Eat Everything You Can thing, and everyone is scrambling like mad to finish whatever projects they started in the summer.

Of course, there really isn't Fall here, there are really two main seasons, Winter, and Construction Season. [;)]

Lovely pics.

Thanks to our drought, the canis didn't get up to it's usually 6 feet and didn't bloom, otherwise, I would have pics to show you.

My husband said he was going to try to NOT watch College FB this year and try to "do stuff" around the house Saturday's instead. I told him,
"that's great...I'll be right here on the couch....bring me a beer every 2 hours"...LMAO!

Did you spring for Sunday Ticket? That's the ONLY reason we switched to DirectTV...well worth the hefty cost to get every Browns game (every sorry last one of em...lol)!

I cannot wait for the first frost of the season!  Everyone thinks I've lost my mind (but these are the same people that question my sanity over dog food and its ingredients)!  That won't happen until November, but I'm ready.

College football ... YES!  The majority of people in Knoxville are football fanatics.  It's "Go Vols!" this and "Go Vols!" that.  U Cal is coming to Neyland Stadium for the opener ... and I know it will be an insane day here -- win or lose.

yep. will be our 3rd year. 3 yrs ago when we switched to directv they were offering a great package for 1st time subscribers. we got the package with all the channels (including hbo, cinemax, showtime, starz, and all the sports channels) plus sunday ticket for about what we normally pay for total choice plus. was great for the entire football season.

since then it has been easy to convince the wife to continue it. she always asks when the renewal comes if we should keep it. i tell her it is her decision, but she has to call and cancel. since she is a dolphins fan and we would rarely get to see them without sunday ticket, she hasnt made that call yet!
