Hmm....John Mark Karr didn't do it

can't say I am surprised, little too convenient.

You know, as soon as you expressed your doubts in the JonBenet thread I thought, "Gina's right!" So I am not too surprised either.

All I found on cnn.com was they dropped the charges because the DNA sample didn't match.  These child porno things are pretty convoluted - I heard theories that he might have watched it on a webcam?!  Messed up - whether he was involved, watching, or just felt the need to "confess" for attention.
I'm still curious if his ex-wife found proof he was with her that x-mas..

Are you kidding me? I haven't heard this yet. I KNEW it! I tried to tell my friend that I didn't think he did it and that the DNA match was not going to be his and she didn't believe me. It was just way to weird.

I can't say that I'm too surprised that he confessed to something he didn't do.  He was looking at a prison term in Thailand. No doubt at all that he figured if he was going to be doing time, he'd rather be here than there.[:@]

Did he commit a crime in Thailand?

Yes.  He was on his way to prison for sex crimes involving children, but I'm not sure what he actually did - I don't know if he molested a child or if he was just caught with kiddie porn. I'm not up on what the laws in Thailand are involving child porn.

I knew he didn't do it from day 1. The reason I didn't believe he did it was because he was looking at jail time in Thailand. For those who don't know, Thailand doesn't play. You don't want to be in jail in Thailand. So this chump figured if he was going to do jail time, he might as well do it in the States because jail time here is like a vacation to most cons. Folks in the States aren't afraid to go to jail because they know they'll get 3 hots and a cot and if they're good, they'll get off in a few years for good behavior. [:@]
