Considering it's start, I can only imagine what the rest of the day will bring...
Brett gets up for work at 4 am (when he's on day shift), so after 2000 alarms went off, I was up (naturally). He went about his business, and I went back to bed, hoping for a couple more hours of sleep until I had to get up and do a few errands. Well, 7:00 rolls around, and the loudest crash sent me flying out of bed. I sprung up and said, "What the hell was that?!" So I headed to the kitchen to discover the source...it sounded like a ton of dishes falling, and I did have dishes in the sink, so I assumed the cats were practicing their evilness for the day. Wrong. Charlie was asleep on the dog bed in the living room, and Deuce was slinking around the recliner looking around for "the noise." Grey was sleeping half on the couch, half on the floor, which must have been comfortable because he didn't bother to get up. So Brown and I venture through the house and make our way all the way to the master bath, where nothing looked wrong. I still didn't know what happened, and it was dark in there, so I turned on the light. Well, I *tried* to turn on the light, but there was NO FRICKIN' LIGHT!! The light fixture, which was replaced a month ago with a really nice fixture, fell clean off of the wall!! Fell off and straight down into the sink! Nothing else was touched...not the new mirror, none of the new bathroom junk...just the fixture. Naturally, the globes broke, but most of it fell in the sink, so I'm hoping I can find replacements. Thankfully, my dad will be here today to put up baseboards, so he'll be able to look at the light, and if he can't fix something, it's broken. I still can't believe it fell. We had been in that bath/bedroom all day to finish up some remodeling junk, and it had all the time in the world to come crashing down, but it waited only minutes until I needed to get dressed...although I am thankful it didn't fall on my head. So while I'm out today, I'll look for new globes, and I can only imagine what my dad will say about this one. We've run into so many house-fixin' issues, so this shouldn't have surprised me at all. Stupid, stupid lights!
