    Interesting -possible religion debate

I thought this was a very interesting perspective.

That was interesting, but I'm not sure how much I agree with the way he has framed the intersection of science and religion - basically that religion picks up where science leaves off. I think they are, and have always been, more intertwined... in fact they used to be far more fused together than they are now. In ancient Greece the study of natural science, mathematics, and theology were all one big area of study. Aristotle's Physics is a great example - it looks at what the natural world is, the nature of kinesis (movement) and change, and progresses toward an examination of the nature of the "Prime Mover." The idea that science and religion are not only separate but at odds with one another is relatively new.

This year I finally figured out the infield fly rule in MLB so I'm good for a while!

"So the universe wants to kill us all. But let#%92s ignore that complication for the moment." LOL!!
There are many things I dissagree with him on, and I wasn't able to read the whole article.  Basically, he got the whole religion thing wrong. Maybe someone else will explain.   I actually don't care. Whether we are here by ID or evelution doesn't matter. What does matter is what we do while we are here. Millions of dollors are spent on this debate, when they could be spent on finding a cure to cancer, or aids or any one of numerous other unsolved illnesses. I think he was basically saying that the ID people don't care and it is just the 'will of God but it seems to me that the evelution scientist seem so bent on proving the ID people wrong and the whole "you CANT have it in the classrooms!" that they forget why they are studying science in the first place.  Homestly, if they think their argument is so strong, the let the ID's have their chance. It shouldn't matter, unless they think the younger generation is so stupid they will just follow anything like mindless sheep. I don't think they are giving us credit to figure things out for ourselves.

Aina I thought that line was funny too...lol.

It's true tho...things are always trying to kill you because everyone and everything is supposed to die at some point. Morbid perhaps...but very true. People have predators, disease, overcrowding, habitat loss, genetic bottlenecking, just like all species do.

Oh and Aina I also agree on the money issue.
