    raised dish

i'm thinking about getting my dog a raised dish for her food and drink, hoping it'll relieve some of her gas problems...

should i buy one from dog.com, or look elsewhere..
    or make one?

I found a really great set of dishes (food & water) here on dog.com  [:)]  I only wanted to raise the dishes an inch or so off the wood floor, but this set came with a couple of sets of extender legs. If I had a super large dog, I could raise the dishes at least a couple of feet if I wanted. And, I had my choice of 3 really cool patterns - I got the one with paw prints. They're good size bowls, too.  The one I use for water holds 6 cups.

I think dog.com has really good prices, so if you're going to buy one that's what I'd suggest. I've heard people that have just put something underneath their regular bowls (phone book, etc) and it's worked pretty well. So you might try that and if you really like the raised bowls, then you can buy some.

Price around. I got a very nice raised set at Target on clearance, and another for my cats there as well. Dog.com seems to have good prices, though if you buy locally, you don't pay shipping. Then again, it's sorta nice to support the place that gives us this forum... : )

I got mine at Petsmart for $20. It is 12 inches with 2, 2 quart dishes and you can screw a 2 liter bottle into the water side so the dog always has fresh water.[:)]
