    Pay It Forward

I've watched this movie a dozen times. Wouldn't it be wonderful if this chain really did carry on, or you were involved in a real "pay It Forward"?

My favorite all time movie and favorite Christmas movie is "It's a Wonderful Life" in the original b&w.

My second favorite movie is "Pay It Forward." I don't brag about it but I do it all the time, even before the movie. I call it hit-and-run chivalry. A pregant woman with two children in the back seat had a flat tire on a busy road where people do 65 in a 45 zone. I changed the tire. Another time, some guys were stuck in the middle of no where with a busted radiator hose. I drove one of them to an auto supply store so that he could get the stuff to fix it and I stayed with them until they were back on the road, as their home base was another 50 miles away.  Last week, I got off the freeway and came back around the service road, parked, then ran up on to the freeway and pulled off a tread that had ripped off of an 18-wheeler as it would have eventually caused a bad, nasty accident. That's enough details for now.

I firmly believe that we can each make a difference. It won't get me to Heaven but I hope to make it to the Rainbow Bridge.

Ron, I'm that way, too. Pay it Forward is just the Golden Rule, if you think about it. [:D]

And here you always stop to help someone who is pulled over. It is too easy for it to be a life and death situation with our big wilderness. Real Alaskans always stop to help. [:D]

NW Ontario is the same way.  The temps are just too extreme.

I'm the same way.  I always find myself doing something for others.  Not that I mind but it often gets me taken advantage of.  And for some reason whenever I need help noone is around.  And everytime I say to myself, "That's the last time I help so and so..."  But the very next time... guess who's first to volunteer.  I just can't hold a grudge.[:)]

I try to help out like that when I can, too. One time an older man was standing by his pickup truck on the highway. It looked to me like it had broken down, so I stopped and asked if he needed a ride. He was so surprised. He said people just don't do stuff like that anymore, he had no idea what he would have done if I hadn't stopped to pick him up. Once we got going, though, he made a comment like, "You drive as fast as my granddaughter." [sm=blush.gif] Drop it back down to 55...

I believe in helping others, without strings. I've had complete strangers really help me out in times of need, how can you not return the favor. That, and I totally belive in Karma.
