    do you feel guilty

if you can't get your dog(s) out for exercise everyday?
I had a bottom molar pulled yesterday and can't get my heart rate up for a few days (still bleeding a bit). So no walks/play time with Beau, for Molly till possibly Sunday. I feel so guilty
DH took her out yesterday evening for some Frisbee play but she's gotten used to more than that.
DH is working 1.5 hours away right now and outside in this heat. So by the time he gets home he doesn't physically feel like taking Molly for a walk (he's a mason).
Of course it doesn't help that Molly lays a guilt trip on me by brining me my sneaker then laying her chin on my knee [:(]

    i do!

lately it has been so hot and humid tho,i dont feel too bad only taking them out for a late night walk..the biking is out till this humidity comes down.

my huskies are getting antsy, and ornery, without their excercise...we bring them into the AC at night and have some extended play and wrestling time, but it doesnt make up for a good run..

you shouldnt feel guilty at all...i come home sometimes from work pretty tired, and have skipped out on a run with them,on a cool day,and thats what makes me feel guilty ..my guilt gets the better of me 99% of the time tho,and i just take them out later than ussual.

one of the really hot days we had Molly and Beau hadn't played together for a few days so one night, at 8pm, I took Molly for a walk. Problem was the air had cooled enough so the mosquitoes also wanted to be out walking with us [:@]

I feel guilty for a lot of things as well!

    I feel guilty...

...if I can't take her out (but thankfully, BF is there do to it if I really can't).

...when I leave her twice in one day.  I can leave her once for a longer period of time but I cannot bring myself to come home and leave again.

...if we're gone for too long and she's home alone.

...if we leave her at night (especially when it's bedtime and we're not home yet)

...if we're both at work all week and then be out and about both days one the weekend

*sigh*  Good thing BF feels the same way so we usually get Lana out the the dog park or a long walk at least once a week.

Oh Yes! [:D][:D] Today for example - it's supposed to hit 106 and 108 tomorrow.  Needless to say, with temps like that it's already HOT and as much as I know Max would love to go for a walk, I also know he'd be one miserable pooch before we got halfway around the loop. Unfortunately, HE doesn't know that. [X(] I'll give him a bully stick instead, and maybe our normal temps will kick in after the weekend.

I feel very guilty if I can't take the dogs out. We typically walk 3 miles each day. If we go somewhere like dog park or they go to daycare, that's the only way I will skip a walk. I've walked sick, in the rain, in the snow and we walk at 9pm if it's hot. Everyone tells me I'm crazy for doing it, but my dogs are both under 2 years and they have a lot of energy. They sleep much better if they get a walk and I don't feel too bad about leaving them in their crates while I'm at work.

I definitely sympathize with you, since you can't walk for a couple of days. A friend of mine tells me that dogs don't have a sense of time, so they don't know how long it's been since their last walk (I don't buy it--anyone else?). But I'm sure your dogs will understand for a few days.

Glad to hear...okay well not glad of course:) but its nice to know I'm not the only one feeling guilty about feeling guilty..being a dog mom is something that I'm still getting used to..and boy is it ever an adjustment.

Yes, I feel terribly guilty when I can't take Dodger for his walks.  Thankfully, food is the way to his heart[:D]!
