Once again, a stellar production. If you ever got tired of agility, you could probably do well in video documentary production. And your dog is awesome.

What fun!  How long have you been training her?

    • Gold Top Dog
i would love for my dog to do that. he's not what one would say a good listener though. if we keep working on it he may get there

What a fun job that would be. I am continuously jealous of the people who get to do that for a living, or else work on computer graphics for things like Disney movies, etc.

We started agility about 8 months ago. Classes at the local kennel club. Two weeks ago, I finally thought she was ready to do the teeter on her own, and now she is "teeter-crazy" and wants to do it all the time. [:D]

I wanted to make the equipment myself, but ended up buying the jumps, weaves and tire instead because it actually cost about the same as the materials did (on eBay). The pause table I made out of plywood and painted. My next addition will hopefully be a tunnel! Anyone know a good place to get one that doesn't cost too much?

Yes! I saw some dogs working on agility at the kennel club while we were in a puppy obedience class, and I never thought we would be able to do it...but we kept at it and are getting better. I say go for it...just training for agility helps so much, because most importantly, your dog learns to pay attention to you. Our trainer says "You have to be more interesting to your dog than anything else in the room".  [:)]

Great work both of you - like the shots framed by the tire especially!

    Lucy, you GO girl!!

I got my tunnels from nti global.  (I have a 15 and a 20 foot tunnel.)

They have free shipping, so they usually end up being cheaper than other places.  These are competition grade tunnes.  If you just want something cheapper, I'd try the toy store or maybe ebay.

Here's my tri-ing guy with in the tunnel.  (The purple 20' is prettier, but don't have pics handy):

Thanks for the NTI link - is there an advantage of 4 inch spacing over 6 inch spacing? Is it easier to curve? How small do they collapse for storage? Thanks!

I believe either are okay for AKC.  You may want to check NADAC and USDAA rules.  I'd think the 6" spacing would be easier to curve and it will weigh less.  I believe my 15' tunnel is about a foot or so tall when it is collapsed.  15' is a nice length as it is long enough to curve around, but it isn't as heavy as the 20'.  I finally got a little flat bed wagon to carry the equipment that lives in the garage out to the agility field so the 2 tunnels live on that (along with the tire, the broad jump and the pannel jump pieces).

USDAA requires 4 inch spacing in tunnels.  But for practice, it doesn't matter.  The 4 inch spacing makes the tunnel a little sturdier and heavier.  I got a tunnel from Affordable Agility and it totalled about $200.  15 footer, in blue.  I bought a "tunnel leash" at a dog show from a vendor and it it so much easier to move the tunnel around once it's "leashed".  I just roll it where it needs to go, as it is pretty heavy.  But the leash holds it together for picking up as well.

Lucy and you look great out there!  I love agility too!  It's so much fun!!
