    Photo session with a papillon

A lady that belongs to my obedience club wants me to do a painting of her papillon. She said that she didn't have any good pictures of him. So I told her I'd meet up with her and take some of him. He's the cutest little guy.  But here's the sad part. He's only 5 years old and he has bone cancer.  He's lost use of one of his front paws.  Their vet said its too far progressed to really do anything but make him comfortable.  Gosh it makes me sad to realize that our pets can get taken from us far too soon. So I took a lot of pictures so they could have them. It just doesn't seem right or fair.[sm=sad.gif]

He is absolutely beautiful.  How very sad though.  I'm sure you know you're giving her a very priceless thing.  wow.

Oh Em, how sad, poor little thing, he is a beauty can we see the painting when you're done. Oh God it makes me sad looking at that little face.
Give him pappy kisses from Brando and Trixe
    And me too

Thanks Laura & Debbie. I will definitely post the finished painting.  I think the hardest part for me is knowing that this is a very well bred dog. He came from quality lines where not one of thier dogs has had this happen. He has his championship and acheived it before the age of 2.  And even with all the careful planning by the breeder and all the hard work by his owner, it can still happen.  Nothing is 100% and you just never know.

Heartbreaking. The pictures turned out wonderfully, though, and she will treasure them - he is not only beautiful, but he looks happy and sweet.

Em I could tell right away how well he was bred by his size, ear fringe, face and coat

That's so sad. [:(]  He's a beautiful dog, though, and I am sure you'll do him justice.  :)

What a beautiful doggie. Great shots - you really captured the pup's personality. I'm sending good vibes to the owner that the dog remains happy and pain free for it's remaining days....

What a handsome boy!  It's so sad to hear about him being taken so soon from his family.  I second the pappy kisses.  Please give him some kisses from me.
