Boomer's play date - what breed is she?

Boomer's play date - what breed is she?

BF's mom found this girl, she is approx. 12 weeks, 17 lbs and has feet the size of frisbees. Any ideas on a breed? Her head looks very wolfhoundish - the pictures don't show it well, but there is almost no 'break' between snout and eyes. She's not really all that big yet, I was thinking maybe collie - or doodle something? She was dumped in a rural area pretty common for dumping. Angry

These are the best pictures I could get - they wouldn't stay still for two seconds so I could snap one - and she jumped in the pool first thing.

Oooh that face!  Super cute! Maybe she's a Rottie/Irish Wolfhound or Rotty/Spinone mix?

What a cutie! I would say terrier, glad yall could save her[:)]

I am going to guess Rott/ terrier. The Rott/ spinone guess is a good one. What about Rott/ German wire hair pointer?

I think that if she was a wolfhound mix she would be a little bigger then 17 lbs at 12 weeks. Giant breeds could easily weigh that at 8 weeks. (Shaq weighed 16 lbs at 6.5 weeks, and by 12 weeks he weighed 42 lbs.)

I think that I am really stuck on the rott + something because of the color, but I guess she could be dobe + something??

Anyway she is REALLY cute, and looks like a bundle of trouble [:)][:)][:)]

I don't see Collie in there.  She could easily be a Poodle mix though.  There are people breeding all kinds of "doodles", including "Doodleman Pinschers" which are Dobe/Standard Poodle.  They look very much like this pup and it wouldn't surprise me that these mixes are showing up in shelters and as strays.  [linkhttp://www.dogbreedinfo.com/doodlemanpinscher.htm]http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/doodlemanpinscher.htm[/link]

When I first looked at theses pictures, I was thinking Airdale mix (we have a friend with a dog who looked a bit like her as a pup and though not KNOWN, nearly everyone who sees him is fairly sure Miles is an Airdale mix), but I think Colliewog's link has convinced me the theory on Dobie/Poodle holds the most promise!

She's really darn cute and does look like a bit of trouble, but in a good way!  She and Boomer were sure having fun!

Edited to add: in terms of size, Pofi was 18 lbs at 12 weeks and while Pofi is a big boy, he's not nearly an Irish Wolfhound (he's 70 lbs at 20 months and about 27 inches high at the withers/shoulder).

I think it's quite possible that she's part Wolfhound...she certainly looks it!  Remember she doesn't necessarily have to have inherited the biggest parent's size, so she may be Wolfhound/Rottie and not follow typical Wolfhound size - she'd have the Rottie in there to shrink her down...I'm pretty sure that mixes aren't usually quite as large as the purebreds that they're mixed with, but I'm not positive on that.  Anything is really possible when it comes to mixing up doggy genes.  Spinone and GWP are both good suggestions as well.  She's so cute though!

I have to agree with Annie on this one, she's aDORAble. But, the first thing I saw was rottie.

Thanks for the guesses guys! I think Doodleman Pinsher is a possibility, one of those pups sure does look like her - but it could be just about anything. I brought up Airedale, but no one else in her family thought so.

It'll be fun watching her grow up - and yup! she's a bundle of trouble [:D] I love her and I hope she comes over to play often, but I'm really glad someone else gets to take her home [;)]
