    "Children" numbers 2 and 3

Children numbers 2 and 3 in a rare moment of repose.  Usually around here it's 90 mph or in a dead sleep...not much in between!

I can relate to that. They look adorable. I really like black pugs, but that is a dashing apple head too.

AW. I now call my Pom, who already has a billion names, Pumblechook. Can't get it out of my head. My daughter now wants a Chihuahua after seeing your cutie! (Good thing we're at our limit)

Tyli- I just love Dobby! He looks so much like Roxy. It's funny how you said it's either 90 mph or sleeping, that is just what my house is like. It is unreal how much spunk Roxy has.

Have you started any obedience training at home with Dobby? If so how are you doing it and how is it going?

    romeoharley,

I start obedience training of sorts as soon as a puppy/dog comes into the house.  I started working on "sit" whenever he was going to get a treat.  He knows it now.  We're working on down from a sit.  Right now the butt is popping up when I try to lure him down with a treat, so he ends up doing more of a play bow.  So, I started rewarding that with the cue "bow".   Hey, after only 2-1/2 weeks here he knows his name...and for the first week he was called Pumblechook.  I think he's doing just fine!  I'm also doing mega socialization.  I don't want to end up with an arm pit pirranha!

I've also clipped toenails twice, and cleaned his ears.  Both of those are going to be important, because their nails grow so fast, and this guy's ears seem to get a lot of waxy buildup.  Of course we're working on housetraining too.  He gives a pretty clear signal that he has to go (lots of sniffing), but he's so darned fast about it that sometimes I can't   scoop him up and get him out fast enough!

They ARE fun, aren't they?  Both the pug and the chihuahua are big dogs in little packages, and I love it.

My MIL has a chi/ pom mix and when he doesn't like something, hes a wholly terror , biting and growling. I think its because she constantly holds him, so he doesn't know how to be a dog. Dobby and Smudge are so precious!

A bit OT but I just have to say, Lisa- Bravo to you for starting to clip his nails/clean his ears early![sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif] We have lots and lots of Chihuahuas that are turn into "Cujo" for their nails. They're sweet for the rest of the groom- it's just if you touch your feet you'll loose a digit of a finger! When you start them off as puppies, normally they do really well.

Edited to add: both Pumblechook and Smudge are absolutely adorable!!!
