• Got a new puppy....Guess the breed!! Ruben Pina jr. Posted : 1/28/2007 2:05:08 PM Well I took a trip to the dog pound yesterday to go check out what they had in stock and ended up bringing a little puppy home. They are overrun with puppies and dogs so I had to get one. They are a very high kill facility so it's pretty important that people adopt them. This is my third dog from there in the past year. Anyways, he is a feisty little guy! You can hardly pet him without him ripping up your hand. He is 5-6 weeks old and his name is Maximus. He is a huge boy already but I don't really know what he is. I am hoping he is a rottweiler since that is what I have wanted for a while but anyone think he might have some mastiff in him? His tail was docked so I think he might not be a mutt but I could be wrong... And here are the pics! His tail looks like it was docked so my guess is he was from a breeder, maybe an x-mas gift gone wrong or just wasn't what the breeder wanted and dumped him. I know three personally who are mixes of...something...with rottweiler type docks. I cant understand why people dock lab & beagle mixes' tails, but it does happen. Yeah, I will definately give that a shot. I think I have to give him a week or two because he doesn't even know his name yet. I am already working on him with understanding what No means so I think that should work good. I will definately email you for some more tips and tricks though... And about the eye thing, that is the only reason why I didn't think he is full bred rottie. Because all the rottie pups I have seen have the orange on their eyebrows.
