Last Picture I Have of My Doobie...

Ok... I don't really want to discuss it because it is still hard for me to talk about... But our Doobie was stolen the week before Christmas... I know who did it but I have no way of getting him back and the cops can't do anything without proof... Enough of that...

I took this picture the first week of December and I love love love this picture of him and my husband... Look at that freakin tongue!!!!

Mommy misses you baby... and Karma will get these people's asses (sorry for the language, just a little sour about this)!

[sm=sad.gif] Poor Doobie. I didn't know he got stolen. Aren't all the photos you have proof? And vet records? Was he licensed to you?

Have you confronted the person?  I'm sure if you have pictures and vet records they will believe you...

I am so sorry to hear this!  I would suggest fighting your hardest to get him back (im sure you have, but as others said, vet records and pictures seem like they would be enough to prove that dog is yours!  Im sure when he sees you he will go wild for you too!).  Hes a beautiful dog, and who knows what kinds of things the people who stole him are doing.... what breed of dog is he?  Hes gorgeous!

    He's half rhodesian ridgeback/half cur....

It's not that I don't have proof of him being mine... but these people live 3 hours away and were in town for a short period of time and I have driven by their house they don't keep him outside... we have confronted them and of course they deny it...

to animals - they are believe it or not, nice people... and they loved doobie.. thats why they took him... but they tried to make me think he ran away and i know for a FACT thats not true...

Wow...I had just seen your new banner yesterday and was shocked to see your "miss you every day" notation next to Doobie's name.  He had always looked so young and healthy, but he's been taken from you? I'm stunned - and hoping in a weird way you are right so he is at least safe.

Do you know people in common with these other people?  Is that how you've determined they have him?

Well it was family of some people remodling my mother in laws house... she was keeping doobie for a few weeks until we fixed the fence at our house (he could get under it)... she came back from the store and he was gone... he never left her yard (thats where he grew up), he never ran in the street or anything...

well it just so happens that the day the people were done remodling is the very day he came up missing (not a coincidence)... they would always talk about, OH MY GOSH WE LOVE HIM SO MUCH... IF YOU EVER CAN'T TAKE CARE OF HIM, PLEASE WE WILL TAKE HIM AND TAKE CARE OF HIIM AT OUR HOUSE.... and on and on and on... and I took them all as compliments until this happened...

The neighbor across the street says she saw Doobie riding in the truck with them one day so I know they took him... Its a momma's gut feeling and I know im right...

Have you reported this to the police?
    • Gold Top Dog
Yes I have... To my local police because this was where the crime happened... These people live about 3 hours from me... I have done everything to my power...

It's obvious that you love your dog and miss him. Request that the evidence (vet records, pictures, witness names) that were given to your local police dept are transfered down to the police dept were the people live. This way another investigation could launched where the people live. The police cannot turn down your request to send the evidence down to the other department. Also, if your dog is microchipped, contact the Animal Control in the area where the dog is now and ask them, along with the police department, to scan for the chip's info. as evidence that you are the owner. Best of luck and I hope this can help a little!

I agree with going to the police closest to them.  If you have a neighbors testimony that they have the dog i'm sure they would have enough proof to search the house for him.  Good luck with trying to get him back!

What you need to do is go to the "your" local police and request that they file your report within Doobie's new locale.  They cannot refuse your request if you have reasonable cause.  It may involve you going down to visit the police who are local to Doobie's new residence but it would be worth the trip if you knew you could get him back, right?  I pray you had him microchipped or tattooed.  This may take some pushing and shoving to get these police to move on something so "nominal" (as they view it) a problem but it will be worth it to you in the end.  Don't give up.  They should be able to go down to the residence (even a noise complaint MUST be investigated) and retrieve the dog or at least ask to check out the house.  I hope this helps.

Well, if it was me I would drive down there early in the morning and literally sit in front of thier house ALL day long. The dog does need to go outside to go to the bathroom. At least then you could see him and know 100% for sure that he's there. Then you go to the police, tell them that you saw your missing dog at thier house and I'm pretty sure they'd have to do something.  And to be honest there are a lot of dog lovers out there, So I wouldn't discount the police. They may help you more than you think!

Oh and take a camera with you to get photographic evidence.
