New adoption - Update w/ Video

So after working for the cat rescue for 6 months, I couldn't take it anymore and needed to adopt a cat, especially since Robin and Louise are making serious attempts at playing and Robin is clearly ready for companionship.

This is Emily, although I am re-naming her Minou because I have known too many girls name Emily who were bad news.

I did not take these pictures, one of the rescue photographers did. Anyway, she was found in a UHaul lot with her mom and siblings and she is now 5 months old and has been living with a fantastic foster mom. Her tail is deformed, but it does not seem to present problems. She's small for her age and has these ENORMOUS ears that I adore. I completely fell in love with her as soon as I saw her and when I met her she licked my hands and chewed on my fingers. She seems very confident and like she'll be a great match for Robin and Louise. I get to pick her up tomorrow!!!!

I'm sure it won't take Minou long to realize that she landed in a GREAT home.  Congrats. She's gorgeous.  [sm=kiss.gif]

Wonderful news - especially for her!  I agree with Annie that she will flourish in such a loving home!  And a kitty brother and a puppy sister to play with!

Congrats - she is a beauty!

So of course we made a video of her first night home, complete with French music for her name:

Things went much better than expected. Minou was scared for about an hour and wanted only to sit in her crate or in a warm corner, alone, but she quickly warmed up and let us play with her and came out to explore. Then Louise saw her and didn't even bark! Louise has serious barking issues when she sees cats out in "the wild" (on the street), but she just stares at Minou. Minou started growling a little and Louise imitated her, then decided it was way more fun to go sleep under the couch. Robin on the other hand was very freaked out by the new arrival. I thought his eyes would pop out of his head. But despite being very cautious, he is not showing aggression at all. He's just not ready to really get acquainted yet and is staying on 'his' things - the mantle, his favourite chair, etc. Minou seems a little scared of Louise and very interested in Robin. And her tail clearly presents no balance problems - she's been hopping around everywhere, making babygates useless.

    Anyway, I'm so happy!

What a beautiful girl.  I'm in love with her ears.  I think she'll settle in just fine.  I wish my guys would be a gentle with Bubba as Louise is with Minou.
