Hi everyone. This is my first post. I can't think of a better way to introduce myself than a photo forum including pictures of my best friend. His name is Tacoda. I rescued him at 7 months and he is now 3 1/2 years old. He was not much smaller than the pictures I will be posting, but he was very sick.
I participated in a sort of covert op rescue and drove 45 miles to pick him up at a gas station near a highway. He was scheduled to be put down because he was not fixed, he had an upper respiratory infection so badly that his entire nose would become encrusted with mucus and would need to be removed every 8 hours. He had flat worms, mange, and was skinny as a bone when I picked him up. My initial feelings where very apprehensive when I seen Tacoda. First, he had peed all over himself and the blanket he was being transported in. We had to pull a tick from his ear the size of a dime and he was filthy dirty. I was afraid to pet him because he was so skinny and fragile I thought it hurt him. It took many weeks and allot of doctor visits to get him to eat.
I take great pride in Tacoda. Allot of that pride is selfish of course and I admit it freely. But, most of my pride comes from the very symbol Tacoda represents in my life, especially during these holiday seasons. To me, Tacoda represents humility, compassion, love, tolerance, humor, and friendship.
I am also posting pictures of Tacoda on my homepage www.husko.net/photos.aspx
I hope you enjoy the pictures of Tacoda. I have not included any captions on this post, but I plan to post a lot more!
