Debbie,
Thank you so much for your concern... it's one I always have being mom to a dachshund. Zoe is actually up on our pillows on the bed so she just crawls off them onto the bed and she has stairs from the bed to the floor. As far as barking, this actually helps a bit because she barks at any noise outside and now she can see what it is and not bark! However, because I go back to work this week, she will get less window time anyway, mainly afternoon and evenings

. I also give gluc. and ester c to hopefully prevent back trouble when she does decide she wants to jump (from other things) and her legs are long for a dachshund so I am hoping that will help. Her back going out is my huge fear so I constantly try to prevent it! I appreciate your concern a ton!
