    Question for basenjimom & agilebasenji...

and anyone else who knows that breed.............."Dora" was adopted from a shelter, so we don't know for sure what she is, but are pretty certain she's part border collie.  Do you see any Basenji in her?  She has that angular face and a pretty curly tail.  What do you think?

BTW, you both have beautiful pups!

Thanks!  Here's a better picture of her face.

Your girl is beautiful!  I have a soft spot for GSD's.  This is my girl, Meadow.  She's a GSD mix.

Beautiful dogs! I can see why you'd think Dora might be part Basenji. That cute pointy face and curly tail remind me of one, too. How big is she?

She's about 20-21" at the withers and only 35 lbs.

    She's a doll!  [;)]

I definitely see the border collie, and can see why you'd think basenji.

Well, whatever she is, she's a cuite!

That's more BC size, right??? I'm not sure exactly how big Basenjis are, but I think they're smaller than that? Did you know that there are smooth coated Border Collies?

Yes, I just found that out recently.

Well, if she's very, very naughty, she cold be part basenji.  [sm=lol.gif]  Really, she looks like she may be part basenji, from the pics, I couldn't say she's definately part sinji.  What are her mannerisms like?  Does she make strange vocalizations?  I can see BC in her, but she looks more upright than most BC's I see.  Either way, she's a cutie.

Size wise, basenjis are 25 pounds or so and 16-17" at the shoulder.  My boysenjis are about 17.5 and 26-28 pounds.  Girlsenjis are a little smaller

It's definately a possibility, I can see why you might suspect it.  I second the naughty question, basenjis are first and foremonst naughty!  My Kiya is 19 pounds and Sammy is 22 pounds (although he's underweight).  Does she love to shred paper?  I haven't met one that isn't thrilled with the prospect of fresh paper to shred!
