I am getting past the point where I accept change just for the purpose of change. I am going to embrace my inner curmudgeon .
Anyway, it's a cold day in MN. Turned white overnight. Got junior out for a good run as the snow started, so he slept well last night. So did I-we were about half a mile from the truck across rough ground as the truck faded into the snow.
The last Obedience class was a joyful experience. One classmate was cleaning up a line of fewmets in the entry gate area, which proved to be prophetic. However, junior was polite and just made one pile on his first lap. A big pile, but easy to clean . He then claimed ownership of all the orange cones. And the training ramp. A three towel night. I think the young OE sheepdog , the one wearing panties, is in heat, which makes junior believe he is in love. Focus is missing. He will not mess in the house, but his definition of public area is wide open.
It is amazing how much this dog learns that never gets mentioned in the class. "Up and In" for getting into the truck, car, or house. "Out", for the obvious, when he is sitting in your lap, both paws up on your shoulders. "Toy', when he brings up a shoe to play and you want him to chew on something else. " Bring it" when you want him to carry something back into the house. "I'll drive", when he tries to get behind the wheel of a moving truck.
We now own a piece of granite, and the cabinet maker is starting on the base units. We appear to be committed.
Puppy is 42 lbs and is now a dog.
Just read 'A Big Little LIfe" by Dean Koontz. Tear jerker because the end is alway present. But he does write well, and it came with my Kindle. I was going to delete it, but I started to read it and had to finish it. A line I liked:
"and she fell asleep not forever but just for the moment between the death of her body and the awakening of her spirit in the radiance of grace where she belonged."
