Grass is showing through the snow again.  This has been a really disappointing winter.  Get out the cold weather stuff and it thaws.  Get out the wet ground stuff, and it snows.  Get out the snow gear, and the temp drops.  Roads are clear and dry, so no sliding.  The only people in the ditch are those with really short memories.  Apparently it is possible to forget about driving slow on ice in less than a week.

Our financial advisor said we may as well pay off the house now.  No tax advantage to not, and the money in the bank makes about 1/4 of a percent per year.  Now to plan for the 3 assessments the city has on our streets and alley, and get ready for the charge incurred by stupid  elected officials.  Contractor putting in a subdivision got money from the city.  We took out bonds to finance the build.  The city gave the contractor the money up front.  All of the money up front.  ALL  UP FRONT. The building never got completed-most never started- the contractor is gone, the money is gone, the bonds have to be repaid.  You start to think about fence rails, tar and feathers, and other historically accurate methods of demonstrating  against govt stupid.

Junior wants to run-it's that time of day.  Warm and sunny day.  I'll take him to the New Ulm WMA.  May see a pheasant there, and it's a nice drive.  If you're ever in MN, New Ulm is a pretty town to visit.  Great parks on the rivers, beautiful buildings, an  historic area, a great statue of Armenius , known as Herman the German.  Good food, nice people, great beer, good wine.  Even an old fort.

Wife is at a church retreat, so I get to do what I want when I want.  Uff da!!!

Doug, I'd trade our weather for yours in a heartbeat.  We have another foot to 18 inches of snow coming, and of course, no blasted sunshine.  It's cold, no one has wood pellets in stock and I'm getting grouchy!  Absolutely HATE having to use the boiler since oil isn't exactly cheap, but will have no alternative if we can't find a few bags of pellets.

Keeping up with the snow is definately not easy.  Must go out and make Theo a slightly larger bathroom AGAIN.  He is not fond of being limited by the couple feet of snow.  I'm not fond of shoveling.  Must be a compromise there somewhere......

Sorry everyone is having such problems -- I just continue to be hugely busy between work and IMHA stuff so I keep nose to the grindstone.
