New Chat - 2/3/2015

Don't know where this shows since the only way I can find anything on the forum is with notifications......

Our week sure started with a blast of snow.  Last I heard was 14 inches, but that was a few hours before it finally quit.  Luckily, it was the light fluffy stuff, so fairly easy to shovel.  I need to go outside and make a slightly larger bathroom for Theo.  I did a path from the doors to the deck, down the stairs and a small area at the bottom of them, which he made very clear was NOT large enough.  Sigh.  Not as if we didn't have a ton of other snow to move......

Despite open faucets, we woke up again to a frozen water main yesterday.  DS got it cleared, but later in the day, after being in the kitchen, using water, flushing, etc, I went to wash my hands and darned if it hadn't frozen again.  I had left a faucet dribbling too.  Since then have been leaving ALL the cold water faucets running.  Rather frustrating to get your hands all soaped up and not be able to rinse them off.....I now have many gallons of water stored in whatever containers I could find!  Also have been leaving a pan of water on the pellet stove so I can have HOT water if needed.

Winter is a major witch.

Since something has been changed in how the forum works, I've just been posting in the regular box since a quote is no longer there whether I want it or not.  But, yeah, something is funky because I'm not even getting end of line and auto return, having

to do that myself.

I'm posting from the regular box, as like Glenda has said there is no quote and it seems to be working fine otherwise. We'll see. I Just hope it doesn't shut down and then they just decide to leave it that way. I don't have anyway do get in touch with anyone here. I guess I do have regular mail addresses from a Christmas card list. We had a good amount of snow Sunday and Monday. Well over a foot I'd say and it's been cold. Some sun today and a bit warmer. I just spent almost 2 hours in the dentist chair and another appointment next week. This is already my 3rd appointment this year. Oral surgeon check up on implant and a cleaning and check up at regular dentist. That's when all the small cavities were found. Can't seem to win. I have bad dry mouth from medicines. I also have gum disease and bone loss issues so it takes it toll on the teeth. Sorry about all the water freezing problems you've been having Glenda. That can be very annoying ,especially before you had some water set aside. This cold weather can takes it's toll on water pipes. Fortunately ours all seem to do okay. This is an old house but when Hubby bought it he totally gutted it and everything is pretty well protected. Hope I don't jinx myself.

We're all having issues Doug.  Try not using the custom text editor, just the join the conversation box and see if the

whole thing doesn't post.

Maureen, sorry to hear about more dental problems. You have my sympathy. Charles will most likely have the same type of problems from now on as the radiation does some very bad things to teeth, salivary glands and bone tissue.

I've been in such a crummy, gripey mood today. I need a warning label for the unaware.  Thank goodness we don't have the severe weather problems some of you are dealing with.

Thanks Jackie. Hey you are allowed to be in a grumpy, crummy mood. You've had a lot going on. Anyway, the good thing about the long time at the dentist was that he got most of the fillings done. He worked on the one side top and bottom. Now hoping he can get the rest of them next Tuesday. They are all on the other side and i think there are only two. Horrible wet snow out there tonight. At least I don't have to drive in it anymore. I've had to cancel appointments a couple of times since the first of the year though and hate doing that. Just crossing my fingers all will be okay tomorrow as I have a couple of appointments.

Bugsy has been sick and still is - he's seems OK but still not right and the vet can't determine what is wrong.  Makes me sad but I know that overall we are very lucky. Don't know what the issue is so still investigating

Spring is on the way, loads of robins, the early flowers are sprouting. Won't be long before the redbud are in bloom and forsythia to follow.
