The week without a weekly chat 12-3-14 chat

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I painted my living room and did not do any shopping.

Looks like we've all been too busy catching up on work from the 4-day weekend to chat.

Doug, nice to see the update about Junior. They grow so fast. I hope your temperatures are back above zero!

Since I find it difficult to find things on the forum, I tend to wait for someone else so I'll have a notification.  Laziness I guess.

I too did NO shopping. No painting either!

We had a nice Thanksgiving, although it's always a bit sad for me now.

Almost all of last weeks 13 inches of snow is gone, thankfully.  Just the dirty stuff at the curbs are pretty much all that remain.  The squirrels and birds are thrilled!

I've definitely been swamped at work this week (I actually came in on Saturday to try to get a head start on 2 projects).  Today I've got some breathing room, and I'm alone in the office, so I should be able to catch up on some things without the usual interruptions.

No shopping for me over the holiday weekend.  Not much of anything, actually.  Tried to get lots of extra rest to prepare for the insanity of December (year-end deadlines at work, as well as my usual last-minute stress of holiday stuff).

The tree service people finally made it out yesterday.  They cleared and chipped all the debris and took care of some "iffy" sections of two big trees.  $500 later, our front lawn was no longer a debris pile.  Every year it seems house-related expenses screw up the holidays.  Last year we had that baffling water leak that started the week of Thanksgiving and repairs finally completed in January.  That was an ugly bill, too.  Whoever calls them the "joys" of home ownership is full of you-know-what!  Tongue Tied

Yes, Jr is a bit spoiled.  Come up from the wood shop and wife asks "How many dogs do you know that drink from the sink?".  My question was "How many people do you know that water their dog at the kitchen faucet?.  Then, wife shows me the egg she had fixed for Sky.  Broken egg in the box, fried soft for the dog.  Just the way he likes them.

Weather moving in.  Looks to be rain, which is always good on pavement when the temps drop.

Getting ready to glue up a serving tray for the son.  Daughters is done, and is better than I thought it would be.  Sons is from a cherry board he was going to toss.  That wood is beautiful.  Will finish it with cherry stained Danish oil.  Nice hard finish that soaks into the wood and really shows the grain.

Hoping to not work tomorrow.  Boss will be back from Bahamas and needs to be retold that I intend to retire soon.  He will forget and hope I will come in when called.  One office girl tried to retire for about 10 years but kept getting called in before she stopped showing up.  My hands still hurt from the cold from Friday.

I need to get a photo of Sky now that he is almost grown up.  Pretty dog, and he likes to pose.

Yes, more pictures, please! Sky, I'm glad you have everyone properly trained :-)

Not much exciting here. It's cold and windy so I don't think we're going to go for our after-dinner walk. The wood stove is cranked and the critters seem to just want to go out, do their business and come right back in. Works for me--the wind chill makes everything so much colder!

Tracy, I hope your adventures with the trees are done! It sounds like there was a lot to do--I'm glad the tree service got there and took care of it.

No shopping (and no painting) for me over Thanksgiving, though I did clean one room that I don't use much and got my houseplants rearranged for the winter.

Took some pictures of Sky.  His smile looked gleaming

Going to run the little snot for an hour in the deep grass, then a bath, then flea treatment.  A small black thing walked across my hand while I was petting him.  Not sure what it was.  I will use a pre-emptive strike.

white, and his breath was minty fresh.  Don't know if it has anything to do with the missing tube of toothpaste, but no frothing at the mouth.
