What a great series of events they have at that garden! Wow -- I'd go to several of the ones they listed. DH would love the Brews and Blooms one. I'd enjoy the holiday themed ones - the scarecrows, the Boo-tanical Gardens, and of course the one for dogs in December.
Those Lego sculptures are amazing. I went to the artist's website to see where else his pieces are touring, but despite having dates booked into 2017, none were in Oregon! I'm suprised -- we have so many public gardens, and Legos seem to go with the "weird" vibe that Portland is famous for. I'd love to see those.
An acquaintance told me today her car was broken into the other night while parked in her driveway. She wasn't upset about the small amount of cash stolen from the console, but they also stole some tech device she left in there, which made her mad. I said, "Oh no, did they smash your window?" She said, "No. Thankfully I leave my back-doors unlocked, otherwise I'd have to pay to replace a broken window, too!" Huh? I decided to keep my first thought to myself: "Well, if you didn't leave valuables in your car AND leave the doors unlocked, maybe the thief would've skipped your vehicle entirely."
I just saw the headline about Joan Rivers' passing. I know her type of humor wasn't everyone's taste, but I really liked her. I saw her back in the 80's with Gary Shandling. And I recently watched the documentary about her, "A Piece of Work." She was a tough lady who went through some really difficult things, but kept on going. And she was open about her life and herself -- plastic surgery and all. That movie followed her around, and I swear she had an energy and a work ethic of someone less than half her age. She also really loved dogs, so that makes her OK in my book.
