    Happy Friday everyone!

ETA:  I meant to give you a little story about the life and times of Ron and the boys.

See if you can picture this.  Both boys can hear the rattle of a cracker pkg for miles :)

Ron is having crackers for a snack, his easy chair faces the  TV.  Hot always lays in the floor to the right of his chair, Rocky usually lays on the floor between my chair and Ron's chair.  Hot is head up attentive to every move of the cracker hand, lol.  Rocky is sacked out snoozing away.  Ron tossed Hot a cracker, then tossed Rocky a cracker which landed right by his nose. He opened one eye, noticed the cracker, moved his head very slightly and closed his eye.  Ron said "Well, I guess since you don't want that cracker Hot can have it"  which immediately Rocky open his eyes moved his head back closer to the cracker and scarfed it up with his tongue, then went back to sleep.  Now who says dogs don't know what you are talking about.

    Wink

Yes, TGIF. So happy the weekend is only a few more hours away. What a crummy work week. Gin, I'll report on the nose work class when I'm feeling a bit more positive. lol

    • Gold Top Dog

((Jackie)) sounds like a Tiki Bar kinda day.

    • Gold Top Dog

    What a great story!

Even tho I'm working from home for  now, TGIF.  Been a long week and interrupted by PT, an ortho appointment and the door trying to take off the end of my finger......I am more than ready for a weekend.

The Tiki Bar sounds mighty good to me too!

Glenda I am beginning to think we need to make you a padded suit so you will quit hurting yourself, lol!

    Vivian have a great reunion!

    • Gold Top Dog

Opps!  Missed that.  Have a wonderful time with your family Vivian!

Yeah, just be careful of those push bars on doors!  I figured out when I was there yesterday how I did that.  Instead of my hands being straight up and down, the left one was sideways, along the length of the bar, and when I started to release the bar, my finger actually got caught in the housing of the bar.

I'd probably manage to hurt myself in a padded suit too.  Hmm

Well now I'm picturing Glenda walking around dressed like the Michelin man!

Vivian, have a great time at your family reunion.  I hope you get lost of photos of you and your siblings all together.  What great longevity is in your family.  Amazing!  What are your secrets?  Please don't tell me good diet and plenty of exercise!  Tongue Tied  Actually, joking aside, I really think longevity mostly has to do with genetics.  One side of DH's family had several members who lived well past 90.  And many of them were smokers at some point in their lives, so that didn't seem to matter much.

Ginger, that scene with Ron and the dogs was too funny.  I can just imagine it.  We used to put treats under Tonka's nose when he was sound asleep, and it was so funny to watch his nose wake up before the rest of him did.  Sometimes he didn't even lift his head and would just get the treat with his tongue and go back to sleep!

Did everyone see Janice's photos in the separate thread she posted?  I know the new ones sometimes get buried, so I thought I'd mention it.  Rupert and the girls all look great -- a lot of cute faces in Janice's household!

So glad it's Friday.  It's been a very busy week at work, and I had two evening commitments that went rather late.  I can't wait to sleep in tomorrow.  Nothing exciting planned for the weekend, which is fine with me.  DH's other sister (the one who was here in June) is coming back with her DH next week, so yet another round of company is descending upon us.  Sigh.

Tracy thanks for the tip on the pictures of Rupert and the girls.  How adorable they all are. Like seeing family for the first time in a long time :)

    Be good, ya'll! Wink

It rained a bit this morning.  Just enough to wet the grass, so I decided to wear my work boots instead of tennis.  Pulled them on and noticed the strings seemed short.  Evidence of chewing.  Wife claims that she is innocent.  Kind of leaves Sky to take the blame, but he isn't talking.

Sky has learned how to jump up on the sofa.  Joy!!.  He doesn't know what a cup of hot coffee looks like, even after I yelled in pain.  With a little luck, I can get him to the WMA  tomorrow and run the snot out of him.  I'll try the part that has the beaver nests.  Bring my wife a nice gift.

The first one is our edible crab apple.  Looks like clusters of grapes when they ripen.

The second is one of the Honey Crisp trees.  Best chunky apple sauce in the world.  Pies are pretty good also.  I have the trees trimmed so that the rider mower fits under and I can grab an apple when driving past.  Need rain.  We water only the trees and veggies.  The grass is tough and survives, but is no fun to walk on barefoot.

My assistant took another job.  Probably pays better, not seasonal, not outside in the winter, and doesn't have to worry about getting lost in S. MN.  The man can not read a map, and seems to have no sense of space or location.  I thought we would have to set him on GPS to get from the shop to the bathroom.  Anyways, it  makes it difficult to retire.  My last check was great, and included vacation pay for a day off.

Sky, no eating shoe laces :-) Ronnie says, "Just move the shoes...confuses everyone." (I just took them for a walk and found two left crocs when I was getting ready. Ronnie played totally clueless.)

    Vivian, have a great reunion!

Ginger, I can see the picture you painted--what a riot!

Doug, your apple trees are loaded! It's almost pie season--yeah!

Jackie, I hope your weekend is better than your work week.

I feel like I'm weeks behind in the garden and yard, so I'll try to catch up with mowing and weeding. I did pick some raspberries and blackberries tonight--yum!

    • Gold Top Dog

    Nice trees!

I am so behind on this thread.

Abbie and I are doing a human remain detection conference this weekend. It is close to home so very convenient. Tomorrow we are doing boat work (drowning). Should be cool. The weather is cooperating and the instructor is pretty great so far.

Well that was an interesting walk. Now we're about to head off to the farmers market. I hope our fav egg guy still has some eggs. It's getting too hot for the hens to lay and he said to arrive early. DH is slower than a snail so we'll see.
