    TGIF chat

I missed the good news about B so .......happy dance!!

This has been an incredibly long and busy week.  Today, as always, will be insane, but then I've got the weekend, and I can sure use that!

Hope everyone has a good Friday!

Hi --  I'm another who missed the news on Bugsy -- that absolutely rocks.  So the vet says he looks like he's 4??  And here I thot *I* was the only one who counted backwards on birthdays *grin*

All is fine with me -- work continues to be insanely busy.  Virtually every day I'm working late.  I've just had to miss so darned much work because of the back/muscle spasm thing  that I don't dare avoid the overtime when there's so much to do.  I'll think of it as job-security?    Let's open the Tiki Bar early -- Sangria for me.  (Hold that thot Callie -- dinnertime will make that a reality .... lol)

Tina, I read your post to say "Bugsy is my new middle name".  lol  I might be a little sleepy.

The city council meeting went well.  I got there a little late which had me flustered as I'm rarely late.  I had to sort of interrupt things in order to sign in to speak.  Someone else had been getting ready to speak but he told me to go ahead.  I said, no, you go first and he's like no, you go ahead.  So I did.  I hadn't had time to collect my thoughts but I plowed ahead.  I think I got my points across though I stumbled a few times and forgot some things I really wanted to say.   The shelter manager had a great presentation.  Council seemed to be listening.  Her presentation went on a little long but she had a lot to present.   I left when the council started talking about forming a committee.  We all know how much gets done by committees.  I offered to serve if one was formed.  I must be crazy. lol

DH is on cloud nine after the Spurs beat Miami Heat last night.  I watched some of the game when I got home.  King James couldn't even save the day.  They got whipped pretty bad.

We had a big storm last night according to DH.  I slept through the whole thing.  Loving these rains.

Callie -- nice to hear from you!  I hope you're back is feeling as good as possible.  I'll join you at the Tiki Bar later today!

We had some heavy rain yesterday and last night, too.  At one point, I heard this bizarre noise during a downpour.  I  opened the back door to check it out.  Well, it was a mini-waterfall of water coming out of (or over) the edge of the gutter right above the door, and hitting the step onto the patio.  I barely avoided a second hairwash for the day when I did my investigating!  DH just cleaned out all the gutters about 2 weeks ago, so I don't know why it would be plugged up.

Jackie, glad to hear you got to give your 2 cents (and more!) at the council meeting.  Yeah, forming committees isn't always the most productive way to take action on a problem (I've been on more than one unproductive committee over the years!), but it's better than nothing.  At least they didn't just dismiss the issue.  I hope you do get to serve on it (despite the time it would require) -- you'll be able to provide valuable input!

I hope the rain clears out by tonight.  Tomorrow is a fundraising Fun Run/Walk for our shelter, and we really would prefer nice weather.  Not just for our own sake, but for all the vendors and people who will have booths and games set up for post-walk fun.
