    Saturday May 24, 2014 - not 2007!

Well I would love to know why every time I log in all the posts are from 2007. My sorting says show the newest posts, and I am fairly certain it is no longer 2007

In other thoughts..............it's a pretty day here. Good to be home although it was a fabulous week at the beach. I haven't ever done a just hang at the beach for a week before and I have to say it was pretty darn good :)

I thought B would be super tired but he was anxious for his walk and I had to move pretty fast to keep up!

I have caught up on laundry however I don't fancy doing any other chores today LOL

We are going to a friend's later for a bit and I need to go to the stores soon.

    Ho hum

It's gloomy here today and makes getting going a bit difficult.

DH and I need to go finish my Friday work.  Gosh, been a long time and I didn't realize how exhausting it is working with just one arm.  Parallel parking was the absolute worst!!!!  I don't like it under the best circumstances but with one arm tied behind my back, basically, it was big time tough!  DS was supposed to help me yesterday, but since he couldn't be gotten up, I did what I could alone.  I have my further north people to see today since I just couldn't do it yesterday.  I was truly exhausted last nite and think I was asleep before 10.

Hopefully, once we finish, I can just relax and play for the rest of the weekend.

Karen, we haven't had a lot of weekend chats lately, so thanks for starting one!

Still haven't figured out why the paragraph breaks no longer work when I use the forum on my desktop. I've done nothing different to the PC, but they no longer work when I post from here. Think I'll try entering individual posts. Sorry in advance!

Yes, the appearance of threads from 7+ years ago is beyond annoying. I think we've all been pretty patient with the rocky transition of this new format. I don't understand why something basic like that can't be fixed. It's not like someone posts a recent comment on a super old thread which causes it to pop up. There are NO new posts on them, so why do they appear? As I've said before, I just click immediately on Discussion Forums so I can skip past that horrible sticky-post main page. The busy-ness of it makes me feel like I may have a seizure!

Vacations are always fun, but it does feel good to get back to your house, your own bed, etc. I hope you're all feeling refreshed and refined after such a nice getaway, Karen. Glenda, I can't imagine parallel parking with only one hand on the wheel. I can't do it well with BOTH hands. In fact, I avoid it!

Today I'm going to a pizza place (my favorite one!) for a surprise BD gathering for my former coworker. Her daughter arranged it. When we worked together, we went to this pizza place periodically when we had time for a longer lunch. I'm already starving, and it'll be 3 hours before I'll be eating it!

Not much from here. I worked in the garden today--I need about 2 weeks of uninterrupted time to get the garden under control, but that's not going to happen!

Glenda, I hope that shoulder heals quickly! Karen, welcome home! I find that it's nice to be gone, but it sure is nice to be back home.  Tracy, pizza sounds yummy!

I just log in via community.dog.com/g/  so I go right to the discussion list. Our internet access is way to slow to deal with all the pictures, etc., on the regular page. I agree that the old threads are annoying!

Spring has sprung, I am tired of work, and plan to retire soon.

Back yard is shaping up-apples are all blooming well.  The apricot has apparently given up and only had one blossom, but the edible crabtree/ went nuts

Gunther, Guns, Lugnut, Spawn of Satan has started school.  The first night of walking went well.  One co student arrived with a muzzle, but was more anxious than evil.  The instructor didn't like my chewed up nylon lead and loaned us a really nice leather lead-20 years old.  Soft as butter.  I hit a farm supply store today and found a nice leather lead-it's actually a horse rein but is great leather, plenty long, and has nice hardware on it.  That and a soft martingale for training should help.

Guns was playing with his spider monkey toy today and it blew up.

Probably faulty design.  He also eviscerated his squeaky weasel, but we caught him dirty with filling stuck to his lips.

He is 42 lbs now, and appears to be in puberty.  His visit to the vet for tutoring is getting closer.

    Enjoy the weekend

    Doug

Guns is looking great!  He did a good job on the monkey toy.  :)

We went to the botanical gardens yesterday for a craft beer event.  There were six or seven craft beer brewers there and each offered several different ones. Several food trucks were there too but the lines were ridiculously long.  After we'd had our fill of the different beers we strolled the gardens for a bit.  The weather was really nice and we had a great time.

Our tomatoes and peppers are coming along nicely.  I am so impatient for our first tomatoes to be ready to eat.

Guns is going to the vet for tutoring?  Haha. I assume you mean neutering ;p

    Nice photos!

Beautiful day here. I'm heading to play with the dogs with friends. This means yard work is put off yet again. I just need to hire a Gardner or move into a condo ;p

Guns you are a handsome toy killer! Bugsy says, "good work, now finish off the legs!"

Just done working in the yard, it is a disaster after a week away. I tried to spray the weeds but the sprayer thing isn't working. DH is grumpy so I haven't mentioned that too him yet LOL

With a yard out size you absolutely need one of these things however they seem to break fairly easily :(

I also pulled out a kitchen garbage bag full of poison ivy, praying I avoided too much contact. Between the poison ivy and the ticks I can confess to seeing the great outdoors with some skepticism

And that is about all - I have avoided doing any real work but really should. Also need to food shop and clean the house. Ho hum.

Tomorrow B and I are kayaking with his puppy friend & owner, I am looking forward to that however I am not looking forward to Tuesday's 5 am start!

Morning all.  Beautiful day here too.  Bright, sunny and beautiful..  Of course I didn't think so when at 8AM the pittie puppy next door got tied out and started yipping.  At least it was later than on weekdays, which is 7.  Still....even if you are up and about that yipping gets awfully old awfully quick.

No real plans for today...will just let the day happen as it happens.  Rather as the shoulder lets it happen.  I repotted some herbs yesterday and it's not happy with me.  I'm supposed to use it some, move it so the joint doesn't freeze, but when I do little stuff, it gets testy.  Sigh.

    Hope everyone enjoys the day!

Overcast day here, but no rain yet. I'm still trying to get the garden ready for planting tomatoes, etc. The kale is doing well--will pick some Russian red (flat leaf kale) for a saute later today. Ronnie's "helping"  :-)

Doug, the Lugnut is certainly growing up!  I can't believe he's at 42 lbs already!  He did a good job on the spider monkey!

Jackie, the craft beer event sounds fun (and a manageable size). Were there any that were especially good? I can't believe you might have tomatoes soon!

    Karen, poison ivy--yuck!

    Julie--a gardener--I need one too!

OK, done with my break so it's back to the yard and garden.

    • Gold Top Dog

Oh gosh!  How could I forget to mention the Lugnut?  He's beautiful and I can't believe how big he's gotten already!

Morning! I hope you all have good plans for the day, even if it's just laying around and taking a break ;)

It's another gorgeous day here which is hard to believe considering how long it took coming. My irises are finally blooming. Yay. I did find out though that my outside front pipe to the faucet frozen and burst this winter. I turned it on this morning and water came running out from under the siding all over the place! Not good. I had some water damage showing in the basement ceiling but couldn't figure out where it came from. Well here's my answer. Just one more costly thing to get fixed. I hope the damage isn't too extensive.

Yesterday with friends and dogs was a good time. The dogs smell of fresh swamp so they are pleased with themselves. I found a couple ticks attached to me though last night which then had me all creeped out I could barely get to sleep *shudder*

Today I'm off to go kayaking for the first time of the year with a coworker friend who just got a new kayak. Should be fun! The yard work will get done on its own right?
