Tina, I hope your friends stick to their promise -- a wait staff serenade is high on the list of mortifying experiences! Happy BD early, in case I don't pop in on Saturday!
Jackie, from yesterday, I'm sorry to hear about your friend facing that heartbreaking decision. We all know how truly difficult that is.
Glad to hear that Bugsy's belly is improving.
Also glad to hear that Puppy Lugnut tolerates tick removal -- I hate those darn things, and probably one of the few things I don't miss about living in CT! Don't see them much in OR.
So, I made it here Tuesday morning on time, but my flights weren't ideal. The red-eye, which was supposed to be my sleeping time, was not restful, despite my chemical sleeping aid. The guy next to me read with the overhead light on the whole flight and there was a poor little toddler wailing the whole time, probably due to ear pain. She sounded very unhappy or hurting, not bratty like some kids on planes.
I got to Chicago at 5am and tried to stay awake while eating a bagel. The leg to Hartford was on a little jet (2 seats on one side, 1 seat on the other -- a commuter jet). They warned us we'd have turbulence due to thunderstorms, and had people change seats to balance the weight --- so needless to say, it was a little tense with all the bumpiness. Landing was iffy with all the wind, but we made it fine and I was relieved!
I've spent lots of time eating (including one of my favorite pizza places) and chatting and laughing. My friend from FL arrived today, so I'm heading out to visit her tonight. It's been 4-5 years since we've been together. More laughing is expected!
Oh, and we had snow on my first night here -- it's been cold, but super sunny, so I'm not complaining!
Hope everyone is having a good week!
