    Friday is here chat 4-11-14

Seems like everyone is busy or has abandoned this forum. It's sad, really.

Not much new here except we're supposed to hit 60 degrees again today. I may be able to do some yard clean up tomorrow. There are tulips coming up in the yard - finally. Smile

Ah! Sounds like a beautiful day! :) It is very Sunny in PA but still a little chilly! I don't want to speak too soon, but it seems like Spring may have arrived!! (FINALLY!)

Tina, I'm so glad you're getting some nice weather, finally.  We've been getting pretty warm the last few days.  Summer is here.

Not much going on here. I'm trying to get in to see the doctor today.  Nothing major and I probably won't get seen today.

Tina, when do you start your new job or do you know yet?

I don't know yet. It's supposed to take up to 10 days to get the background check back. I can't start until that is complete, so it could be a couple more weeks.

    I agree, Tina.

This week flew by -- probably because I had so darn much to do at work, and I need more time to finish it all.  I may be here later today to finish one last project.  I'll be here Monday, but I won't be in a good frame of mind (pre-flight phobia), so I only want to leave simple tasks for Monday.

Another warm, sunny day here.  I'm looking forward to walking over to the store at lunch time so I'll have an excuse to be outside for a few minutes.

That fiery crash on I-5 in CA yesterday was just horrible.  What a tragic loss of life.  It'll be interesting to see what comes out of any investigation about why the truck crossed the median.  Maybe the driver fell asleep or had a medical event, or maybe texting.  So sad.

It isn't feeling very Friday like to me :(

Tina in my case I am super busy and honestly the having to login every.single.visit means I avoid here. I skim through sometimes and want to post but having to go back to login and then post all via phone is a hassle.

Anyway that crash was awful Tracy.

Bugsy's gut is still out of whack. Strangest thing really. He seems fine except an insane amount of gas and I've not changed his food although at this point I have done bland diet, canned stuff only, only his normal kibble, etc. Nothing helps.

Earlier he let out this LONG, loud fart and I burst out laughing. I know with dogs that amount of gas isn't funny but it was like a joke fart.

Sorry for the childish humor my brain is fried

I did take B for a long walk to the lake with his newest buddy yesterday - a gorgeous black and white GSP pup - I never think B is too big but this pup is now about 60 lbs and he looks teeny in some photos LOL

alright I need to go back to the land of errors and then get my haircut

I have a bad feeling about my weekend at this point

hmm I added a photo to that reply but it isn't in the post itself - have a look though it's cute

I love that photo!  They do look like bestest buddies!  I wish Ruby had a regular playdate like that. Sadly, the only two dogs we know who tolerate her rough play style aren't dogs we see often. It would be fun to see what she would do playing in a lake like that.  She's not afraid of water, at least for baths and the kiddie pool in the yard!

I'm really sorry B has some tummy troubles, but I don't blame you for finding humor in his gas "expressions!"  Poor guy.  Could he be eating something in the yard?  Ruby is eating all the new young grass shoots, along with some chunks of dirt in the garden, and it drives me nuts.  I turn my back for one second, and chomp chomp.  Maybe B is munching on a disagreeable plant, or a critter carcass or something you've not seen him eat?  Give him some gentle belly rubs for me.

Wow it seems like the longest week ever..... Temps are in the 60's and 70's in NW Arkansas, my Daffy's are blooming, just saw some color on my tulips, My Sargents Crabapple's are budding and they are gorgeous in full bloom. Red bud's just started and dogwoods are budding..it's spring! Tina congrats on the weekend position! GingerD wtg on squirrel patrol :) Rocky and Hot can tell you it is quite a job to keep them up in the air lol Hey Bugsy, nothing but cartoon gas noises would be expected from the resident clown, lol. We have had some major computer issues this week, ugh, on top of taking hubby for an EGD, and short handed at the office. EGD went well, still short handed at office, count down 1hr 34min til close I hope everyone has a great weekend.

I am sorry that poor Ruby has slim pickings for friends. Loads of dogs we know prefer a rough play style and B doesn't so although he is happy to see those dogs he doesn't want to rough-house. He prefers chasing and being ridiculous

It always amazes me how dogs can meet and be like, "oh you are my best friend" that is pretty much these two. They have only met twice LOL

Gin Spring is here too - the pine trees have exploded so it is snowing green :(

    • Gold Top Dog

Oh, Karen, I remember the "green" snow from the pine trees when I lived down there--I do not envy you. My car was always green!  It is spring here, too--finally!

Bugsy, I hope your tummy feels better quickly.

Ruby, I hope you find some play date friends! Mozey has a golden retriever who visits and they have zoom fests together, then take naps.

Tracy, will you get to RI on your trip?

    • Gold Top Dog

Kate, if Ruby stuck to just zoomies, we could find her more playmates.  But her tendency to pounce and body slam like a wrestler drives 99.9% of dogs (and people!) away from her.

As for my trip, I won't be able to make it to RI this time.  My oldest friend will be in our hometown for a few days for a party for her parents' 50th anniversary, so I'll be staying in town to maximize our time together.  She lives  in FL, and we're rarely in CT at the same time, so it's been a few years since I've seen her.  I hope to go back to CT in the fall, and I'll have more flexibility, so that will be a good opportunity for a side trip to RI.  I will definitely let you know so we can see about connecting!

Quite often I'm too busy for words during the week and when I have a minute, like Karen, I find it a PITA to have to log in from my phone.  I find it a pain to always have to log in even from the 'puter.  Remember, I'm the old broad who resisted anything but a dumb phone for years...and while the smart phone is nice, the tiny keyboard makes it frustrating to have to constantly log in places.

Since it is Saturday, WOW, gorgeous weather this weekend.  We had warm temps but rain much of yesterday, so am really enjoying the sunshine today.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Hello, actually we are getting more visitors than ever, but what's changed is that there are many more elements to the new community and we need to do a better job of showing you how to get the most out of them. We're also just making some changes to improve your experience based on your feedback. At the top of this list is 'sticky login' which is as you say, a PITA at the moment. Do bear in mind that there are something like 30 combinations of device and browser than we need to support and that does mean work and time. We will be launching a new version of the site in the coming days, which will look the same but work better. We are also looking at how we can make this a better experience on mobile devices, but this is complex and will take time too. For what it's worth, I am typing this on an IPad, and for me it's working as it should. Also, don't add pictures as attachments ever. This is for files only just like email. Use the insert media button in the editor, it's the one next to insert video and it will display your picture in full in the post. Once this round of changes is done, we will be issuing more detailed  help. I know it's later than promised, but there seemed little point building a whole help system when the site is continuing to change. Best, Jonathan .
