Monday morning in the rain.

    Monday morning in the rain.

Not a beautiful morning. Rain and gray skies. But the snow is mostly gone.

My favorite son completed an ironman competition in Mexico. I am impressed. But he is an impressive man. Calling him a man creates a condition known as "cognitive dissonance". My little boy competed in the mens over 40 catagory. That means; 1) he is getting old, 2) I am getting old, and 3) I am married to an old woman. I know #3 is not possible.

Lugnut decided to visit the Lab that lives across the street. Nice dog, but big and a little territorial. Short visit. So he decided to check out the neighbors backyard. Visitors had a nice GSD staked out. Short visit. So he jumped on my chest and licked my face for a while.

Yesterday was very nice here, so I straightened out the garage a bit. I also took the truck to the car wash in the hopes of cleaning the last of this winter's salt off of it.

Today is supposed to hit 55 degrees. There is hope!

    Not much else right now.

Kate, I am jealous of your trip to Barcelona. Stick out tongue

It's beautiful outside today.  I too hope this is the last of the salt Tina.  Working remote today.  I work downtown Detroit and it's opening day for the Tigers so most of us try to work remote to avoid the chaos and the traffic.

Hope everyone has a good day today!

    Kate have a great trip!

Quiet week this week I hope, taking my Dane to the vet tomorrow night to check on his tumor :( Keep him in your prayers.

    Have a great day everyone

Where did the weekend go?  Yesterday was beautiful in NWA.  Looking for rain and spring temps for the rest of the week.

Michelle lots of good vet check vibes coming your way.

Lisa I don't know how you can do downtown Detroit, lol, I have trouble with Fayetteville traffic,ha!

Tina I hope you get a bit of a break from the weather, smooches for Ginger D.

Doug, Guns stories are so adorable, he is so cute!

This made me laugh, Of course #3 is not possible

"That means; 1) he is getting old, 2) I am getting old, and 3) I am married to an old woman. I know #3 is not possible."  LMBO!!!

Doug, your son's accomplishment is very impressive!  If I had to run to catch a bus, I'd probably die.

From yesterday -- Kate, your trip sounds amazing.  I hope to visit Spain someday.  What a wonderful experience you must have had.

Glenda, the photos of the fallen radio tower were kind of scary -- to think winds were strong enough to topple all that!

Sending good thoughts for an encouraging vet visit, Michele.  I'm sorry you've had more snow -- but hey, if it's 55 at Tina's and it's opening day in Detroit, those are signs that spring is truly arriving!

Rainy weekend for us.  I did a lot of errands on Saturday, we saw a movie Saturday night (Lone Survivor - very good), and yesterday I slogged around a big mall looking for a dress to wear to an event during my trip to CT in a couple weeks.  Tried on many things, found only one that I really loved, but not my size.  I took a chance and ordered it, so hopefully it arrives ASAP and it fits, otherwise I'll be scurrying around for Plan B.

Hard to believe it's March 31st today.  Feels like it was just the New Year!

The weather was great over the weekend.  It's a little cloudy today but nice temps.  I'm so sleepy I can hardly keep my eyes open.

    Ditto that ^^

Today's precipitation: Ice Pellets! They are now accumulating into a layer of frozen "stuff." I sure hope this is the last winter weather event!

Just scheduled a vet appt. for Mozey--she's having trouble with her anal sacs (let's see what the censor does with that!). Has anyone tried adding fiber to help with the sacs becoming impacted?  I've read mixed reviews on that (and will talk with the vet). Mozey gets a fairly low fiber food now.

Michele, I hope your vet visit goes well.

I had to drop off the island truck for its inspection today. There was some minor thing that had to be fixed, but other than that, she's a "go". Given the truck has over 250,000 miles, I'll take it. (I've only added ~4,000--it was a parts delivery truck for a auto parts place in its prior mainland life. They put on the miles!)

Doug, I am so impressed with your son's accomplishment. An Ironman--that' s just amazing!

    Happy Monday, all!

Edited to fix an error. I am sure there are more.

Kate, 250K miles on a truck is amazing!   DH will be glad to hear he's got a fellow 200K+ club member (he's got a Ford F-150).

Tonka developed chronic anal glad infections when he was about 9.  Until then, he'd had no trouble with them, other than the horrendous odor we'd notice when he'd express them while sleeping on rare occasion.  But once they started getting infected, he was on what seemed like constant antibiotics because they'd heal up and then get infected very soon after.

He was on a limited ingredient food by Wellness, and we tried changing that, without much improvement.  We did some of the usual suggestions:  pumpkin, sweet potatoes, green beans, etc.  He was also on a probiotic.  We never could kick the infections permanently, so we went with the last resort to have his glands removed after nearly 6 months of severe infection and obvious discomfort for him.  I hope you have better luck with the dietary changes.  Keep us posted!

We have several work trucks with close to 300K miles and those are hard miles. :)

Good luck to Mozey at the vet appointment.

For your viewing horror, here are some more pics

Broadcast towers are not supposed to fall down or blow over.  They have to be built to withstand 100 + mph winds and to be anchored deeply enough to resist saturated soil.  Why this fell, who the heck knows, but thankfully it was on a mountain, way far away from where homes are located.

Today started with a mix of snow and rain and sleet.  By afternoon, clear skies and sunshine, but the strong winds continue.

I'm impressed with both the Ironman competition and the truck!

Just got meatloaf mixed up for dinner and one for the freezer.  Now to peel taters so I can go pick up the hubby.
