Embroidered collars

    Embroidered collars

Thought about putting this question in today's chat so it wouldn't get lost . . . hopefully you all see it!

We'd like to get Ruby a collar with embroidered contact/ID info.  Right now, all her collars have metal ID tags, and I sometimes worry they'll get caught on something when she's alone in the house.   An embroidered one seemed like a good option when she's home alone.

Obviously, a phone number will go on it (DH's cell), but should we put her name or DH's name with it?  We've got limited space, so it might have to be just our last name. Maybe that's useless since someone might think it's the dog's name.  Just thought I'd see what others have done, if they have such a collar.

I usually put the dog's name and phone #.    I have several collars with brass name plates with the contact info and a few with the info embroidered on the collar and well, never mind.  I have gotten over my collar addiction.  Thank goodness. :)

ETA  It looks like I put the dog's name and the dog's phone number.  lol   You know what I meant.

No clarification needed, Jackie.  Ruby is so spoiled, it's easy to see why someone might assume she has her own cell phone!  Wink Big Smile

hahaha   If Ruby gets a phone, send me the number so Gabby can call her.  She loves to talk. :)

Grux could never have his own cell phone, he'd be texting all his friends lol

I would put name and number

I would easily be able to get away with a pay as you go for Bugs. He is nearly mute. :)

I have collars with the brass tags - most have his name and several phone numbers on it. Then everyone said don't put the dog's name on (as if anyone would keep Bugs!)

I do like those embroidered collars, however B has enough for now

Ruby would love to trade phone numbers with fellow iDog pups!  She's very vocal, indoors and out, but if she texted, it would be in ALL CAPS because she is so freakin' loud when she gets going With her barks, roo-roo's and whine/howl combos!

Karen , tell Bugsy he can just listen if he doesn't feel like talking.  Like most males visiting with two or more females, he might not be able to get a word in edgewise anyway!

I didn't think about a collar with those brass plates.  Might have to get that instead . . . More room for info.

With multiple dogs I don't put individual dog names on tags or collars. I just put my phone number that way if I am in a rush and need to grab a collar it doesn't matter which one I pick. I do have an embroidered collar cover for abbie when she works. It has her name and out sar team name on it.

If I were in your shoes I would out her name and phone number in the collar personally.

Rocky has lost every tag I have gotten him and Hot Still has his tag and jingle bell.  I would love to have multiple collars but have found that in our neck of the woods it's best to have orange washable collars.  Most of those do not have a location for id.

As for the cell phone, lol, Ruby and Hot Shot would have a time seeing who could be the loudest :)

For those that lose tags I do recommend Boomerang tags. I have to use the belt buckle style collar with B and they have one that slides on or if you use the clip collars they have one that is easy to put on BUT never came off.

Ginger I use this kind of collar for B's outside work and get the brass tag on it
