    Wed chat

Keeping Doug and Mrs. Doug in my thoughts and heart today.

Warmer here today....already 17 degrees which absolutely feels like a heat wave.

Much to do and not enough hours to do it all, so off to start my day.

Wishing everyone a good day today.

So sorry for your loss Doug, thoughts and prayers are with you.

Warmer here too, a balmy 30. A really good friend of mine is coming in next week from Florida I can't wait so I have much to do to prepare. I started my next basic obedience class last night I have a really nice group of dogs to work with.

    Have a good day everyone!

My heart dropped when I came here this morning.  Doug and Mrs Doug I am so sorry for your loss.  Run Free Piper,

I feel so sad for Doug and his wife. I hope puppy kisses are helping. Not much going on here. Work. Head Cold. Yep, that's about it.

Well, the heavy rains here seem fitting for the sad mood today as I read the news about Piper.  I knew things sounded bad, but I was hoping she'd rally.  Doug, I'm so sorry for your loss.  Piper was such a pretty girl, and from the photos you posted, she clearly lived in a doggy paradise with the nature around her for running, walking, bird chasing.  I hope it brings you and your wife a little comfort to imagine her at the Bridge, chasing birds to her heart's content, with no more pain.  Run free, sweet Piper -- you were very loved and will be very missed.

Jackie, I hope the worst of your cold is behind you and you'll be feeling 100% soon.

I've got a project I need to finish in about 3 hours and I can't get myself focused to plow into it.  I keep thinking about how much I'd like a hot cocoa or something chocolate, but there's nothing sweet in the office and it's too miserable out to walk to Starbucks.  Maybe the rain will let up later this afternoon and I can reward myself when this task is finished.

((((( Doug )))) I'm so sorry for your loss. We had to help our sweet girl over the Bridge recently and I know how much you're hurting right now. I will be keeping you and your family in my prayers. Run Free sweet Piper.

I feel so sad about Piper and Jessie.

A colleague has an elderly dog and is biding time.

I try not to but I honestly worry about the changes I see in Bugsy, he's doing well but I see the body changes and with his size and likely genetics ...................

Anyway, DH is home. And is now trying to 'fix' the broken washer. He clearly didn't get my message that I am done with it.

Jackie I hope you are feeling better

If anyone finds a little GSP pup, send it to me. Drop it off in my yard. I will 'find' it and have to keep it :)

Karen, your DH sounds like my friend's boyfriend.  Every time something breaks or needs service in their house, he has to spend a bunch of time trying to fix or install something himself.  This inevitably takes a huge amount of time, so my friend has to deal with inconveniences far longer than necessary.

Sometimes I wish my DH were more handy, but then I think of situations like that, and I realize that despite the expense, it's nice to just "call the man" (as Andy Griffith used to say), and they come fix it in no time!

I so understand what you mean about seeing some worrying signs of aging in our dogs.  I felt the same way with Tonka.  But, Bugsy has such great care and healthy lifestyle.  He's got lots of years ahead of him.  Yesterday I saw an acquaintance who adopted a black lab when she was 10, and now she's 14 and still doing very well!

I've been thinking of Doug and Mrs. Doug today, too. Their hearts must be so heavy right now.  I hope the pup provides a bit of relief from their sorrow.

It started to snow again here, but it's not supposed to amount to anything.

Bought a new battery for my island pick-up...it's too darn cold to do anything about it tonight!

Karen, if I find a GSP pup, I'll accidently on purpose drive to your house and  accidently on purpose leave the pup with you :-)

I'm off to Greensboro (NC) tomorrow for a weekend of basketball, "warmer" weather, and catching up with friends.
