    Frosty Friday chat

Well.  Our windchill last night was -32 degrees.  Yikes.  This morning we have sunshine and -3, but are heading towards a high of 12 today before we get whalloped with snow on Sunday.  Got love winter......but only if you're nuts!

Today will be insane, as always, so best get off and running.

Have a great day all, and hopefully I can stagger into the Tiki Bar before 7!

This morning it was -2, not sure what the wind chill was but it wasn't nice. However, the sun is shining and the sky is very blue so I won't complain too much. We are bracing for another storm this Sunday into Monday not happy.

Busy weekend, surprise birthday party for my step mom and also having a "we had enough of winter" party at my house. Lots to do after work today, then having an adult beverage later this evening with family and friends.

    Be safe and warm everyone.

Yea!!!! It's Friday!!!  We were supposed to have some freezing rain this morning but the rain slowed down and we are warming to 40 today.  I guess more stuff is coming in on Sunday but Glenda -32 is worse than yikes  burrrrrrrr  I would have to be a wimp and stay home all bundled up :).

Have fun this weekend Michele sounds like lots of activity for you.

I hope Gibby is resting well.

It started out nice, then went down hill.

Dogs out right away-nothing to clean up.  Nice weather.  Fed the dogs, Piper decided to retch on the living room carpet.  Bissell to the rescue.  Then she retched in the den.  Bissell makes a great product.

Snow has moved in.  Snow showers forecast, but we seem to have a little over an inch of fresh stuff, and visibility is less than a quarter mile. This may actually be a snow storm.

It's still winter here, too, and frigid to boot.

Ginger (dog) was pretty restless last night, not so much pacing but a lot of shifting on her bed and major panting. The Proin apparently causes restlessness; the good news is Ginger did not leak during the night. I'm a light sleeper, so I didn't get much shut-eye. Sleep

Yet another thing I miss about the old forum format was how under our avatars/names, it showed where we lived (a city or a state or however specific you wanted to be).  For those of you I've known for ages, I know what part of the country you're posting from, but for the newer folks, I don't.  Oh well -- I guess right now it doesn't matter because basically everywhere is cold and snowy!

Speaking of snow, I just finalized my plans to go home for a CT visit in April.  My Mom has had snow at about the same rate as you've had it all winter, Glenda (she lives in western CT).  Think the stuff will be melted by the time I get there???  I love snow, but I'd rather not deal with it when I've got a lot of people to see, places to go, and driving to do once I'm there!

We've got some sun right now -- they said it could reach 62 today.  But rain and mid-40's for the weekend, so I better enjoy it while it lasts.  Think I'll walk over to the store at lunch time so I can take advantage of it.

Sorry to hear Piper's got some tummy trouble.  Dog owners help boost the profits of Bissell and Nature's Miracle, don't we?!

No plans for the weekend for me.  I've got some errands to run and a gift card to use at Marshall's, so maybe I'll do a bit of shopping.  Oh, I nearly forgot ---- I'll be home in front of the TV on Sunday evening watching the Oscars.  One of the few things I like about living on the west coast -- shows like that are on early.  Between that and the DVR, I can get through the Oscars in a couple hours.  It's awesome!

Tina, we were typing at the same time.  Are the side effects of the Proin something that will subside a bit after her body adjusts to taking it?  Maybe you could run a small fan in your bedroom so there's a bit of white noise to help you sleep better?

It seems like winter will never end. So far it's been the second snowiest winter on record for our area and we have a winter storm watch for the weekend with 6 to 10 inches of snow possible; blech!

     Tina; Jessie was on Proin but didn't have any side effects. Maybe Ginger will do better as her system adjusts to the medicine. A few years ago, Jessie was diagnosed with high blood pressure so I took her off the Proin because that is one of the side effects;

She still had high blood pressure but it was well controlled with amlodipine. Of course she started leaking in her sleep again. We solved the problem by having more than one bed (to allow the mattress to dry) with washable covers. We bathed her on the weekends and I used pet wipes or rags moistened with plain water during the week so she wouldn't get urine scald.  I hope the restlessness doesn't last long so you can get some rest.

Tracy & Janice, I'm hoping the restlessness will subside. I did read about the high blood pressure risk and other things. I'm going to make sure I keep the vet involved. I've already got the "pooch pads" that are re-washable and her bedding is covered with those under the blanket. Unfortunately it creates a lot of laundry. If there is one thing I can't deal with it's the smell of urine. Ick!

    • Gold Top Dog

Ahhh  I hope her restlessness goes away,  so both you and she can sleep well at night.

Tina's gone for the day but I hope she gets some sleep tonight. I feel terrible for everyone dealing with either snow or torrential rains. Yikes, it's crazy! It's 80 here and sunny. :) *saunters off*

Shaking fist at Jackie....nah, she'll be hot, humid and miserable soon enough.

Tracy, shoot me a PM or email and let me know where in Western CT.  It may well be that she's close enough that I can give you a better idea.  We honestly haven't had gawd awful amounts of snow this winter, but when we do get it, it's usually in gigantic blasts.  3-4 inches?  No biggie and all the shoveling I actually do is the foot of the driveway and the sidewalks, but these HUGE storms, thankfully there have only been a few.  However, according to Al Rooker, we could be in for a foot and a half this time.

I didn't finish work until almost 7 today.  Definitely a night for take out.  Ate about half of it, took a nice hot bath and feel refreshed, but know that the minute I sit down, I will be GONE.

Laundry, groceries and assorted errands tomorrow.  Sunday and Monday, apparently, shoveling.
