    TGIF Chat

Hello everyone, hope you are all safe and dry, we are starting to melt here in PA, warming up to almost 50 today!! Working away, looking forward to the weekend lots to do around the house. Monday I have a concert in Philadelphia looking forward to getting away for a day. What are ya'll up to this weekend?

. What are ya'll up to this weekend?

    Laundry. The fun never ends.

Windy, snowy, sunny, rainy here today.

Thanks everyone for the vote of confidence about adopting a dog. I've been pondering it for about a month, and my DS will be moving out soon, so it seemed to be a good time. With the track closing, I won't be working weekends all summer, so that won't be an issue.  I've got a few feelers out about older dogs, so we'll see. I'm not going to rush into anything.

Tina, I know you'll make the right decision on getting a dog when it's the right time and the right dog.   Your weather sounds sort of dysfunctional.  Come down here this weekend and enjoy the sun and 70 degree weather. :) The laundry can wait or bring it with you and we'll get my DH to do it while we go have some fun. :)

We're hitting up a new farmers market tomorrow.  I'm supposed to be having lunch with a friend too but we'll see.  She might be babysitting her grandkid.  I want to go to the river but DH has been limping around with his plantar fasciitis again.  He's not willing to grin and bear it when it comes to pain. lol   I guess we'll go out for dinner tonight.

I've been sleeping so well that I can hardly wake up in the morning.  It's like I need more sleep, the more I get.

Taking Gabby to the park at lunch.

LOL, what is it with our men. :) The wind finally died down a bit here we are in the mid fifties...I will take it. The boys have had a couple of unplanned play dates this week. They are sleeping so sound and I have been waking up before them in the morning. Last night, I was cooking dinner and Hot was snoring so loud I could hear it over the TV, lol. I wondered what the noise was, I tiptoed to where I could see him in the next room, he didn't even raise an eye he just ......snooorrrreeee....woofwoofwoof....snoooorrrrreeeee......woofwoofwoof over and over and the woofwoofwoof was a little higher pitched than his "awake" woof. I wish I could have seen what he was dreaming whatever it was he was really into it. Is it 5:00 yet?

Jackie, I'm so envious of your "sleeping soundly" experience.  This week, I'm 5 or 5 with nights of waking up at 2am or 3am and tossing and turning until just before the alarm goes off.  THEN I feel like I'm in a coma, of course.

I've tried reading, but turning on even a tiny book light is too jarring for my eyes (which are very tired, despite being wide awake).  I need to figure out how to put podcasts on my iTouch so I can keep it on my nightstand and listen to some Fresh Air interviews or something low-key like that.  Music doesn't seem to work -- but calm voices may do the trick.  Maybe I should find someone lecturing on accounting or taxes or something super boring like that!

Michele, what concert are you going to?  I love going to concerts and try to go to a few a year, but it's tough when they're in venues an hour away and they're on a weeknight.  I've done it, but boy is it rough the next day at work!

Tina, I know you'll find the right dog-match for you.  And you'll both be lucky to have each other!  I know you'll keep us posted.

Nothing planned tonight or tomorrow (laundry and other chores).  Sunday we'll take my MIL to lunch, then I'm going to a little reception being held for shelter donors.  Just refreshments, but it'll be nice to visit with some folks I only see a couple times a year.

I always wonder the same thing when Ruby is "barking" in her sleep (hers is higher pitched usually, too).  If her paws are paddling, I assume she's dreaming about chasing a squirrel or running along the fence line with the kids next door, both of which she loves to do in her waking hours!

I am cracking up thinking of how Hot was snoring and woofing in his sleep.  Glad they've had lots of play dates lately.   This and Ruby's barking in her sleep reminds me of what Gabby did the other night.  She was sound asleep next to me on the couch.  We were watching the Olympics.  She started this low howling that got louder and louder.  She was dead sound asleep. DH and I were cracking up.  I've never heard her howl, ever.  It was funny and eerie at the same time.  She must have been singing the song of her people in her dream. lol   Rex and Belle both woke up and looked at her and went back to sleep.

Shane never makes in noise in his sleep and has never really shown any sign of dreaming. He does the tongue sticking out a little but that's as cute as it gets. I miss the funny sounds they make.

DH went for bike ride on the river trail with a buddy but before he left, he had Shane out front and his girlfriend, Breanna came out to play. Shane actually outlasted her for a change but he's zonked out now.

I have a hair appt at 2 and since Costco is near the salon, I'm going to stop there to pick up Shane's meds and a million things I didn't know I needed. I don't like getting my hair done or going to Costco, so I'm not super excited.

70s and sunny here all weekend. You should come visit Tina. Drop off your laundry with Jackie's husband and bring her with you :)

Sounds like a fun girls' weekend is in the works.  Count me in -- the weather AND the company sound ideal!

Cathy, your DH better find someplace to go for the weekend before we all appear on the doorstep!  Unless he wants to serve as chef and poolside attendant, that is!  Wink

    • Gold Top Dog

I don't trust my DH with the laundry either but I can worry about that later.  So what if the whites are all bright pink!   Cathy, send your hubby here to help with the laundry.  Between the three of them they should be able to figure out the control knobs. lol   Maybe.

I can assure you if my hubby has anything to do with the control knobs...you will need to buy a new washer. Bless his heart! ETA: Have a good weekend all!

Groan.  Am I EVER glad this day is over.  Far too long, and on top of that it poured rain every time I needed to get out of the car.

Have to go rather far up north tomorrow to pick up a $2100 plus check so that the client doesn't get hit with a small claims judgement on Monday.  Hmmmmm, you could have actually MAILED the check, but.......I hate making the drive but, I'd just as soon get that check and be done with the crap surrounding this client not paying on time.  He's one of those clients who is like a little darned kid.  And the boss has been just a tiny bit of a jerk about this client.  Angry

The other excitement on the weekend list is laundry (altho I could send it all to Jackies), cleaning the house and trying to find a little bit of time for myself.....maybe figure out some of the bells and whistles on the "devise".

However, despite the rain today, we were in the 40's temp wise and will be for the next two days.  YES!!!!  Snow is melting, I can almost see the roof again, and hopefully the ice dams in the gutters will melt away nicely and through the downspouts instead of the ceiling..  Come Monday, we'll be back in the 20's, but, at least we're getting a few relatively WARM days.

Doesn't take much to make me happy.......
