Maureen I am thinking about you and your friends family. Sorry I missed this until now. My Granny died at 92 and was diagnosed with ALZ at 88. She was healthy as a horse loved to work in her garden not very educated but until later in life had a memory unlike any I have ever seen. It was hard on my Mom to see Granny fade like she did but she always appreciated the volunteers and the nurses that spent so much time walking reading and keep her company when Mom was not able to. We would often see a look in her eyes that made us think she had moments or thoughts or recognition in some way. Just to know you were there with her, even on occasion, was a comfort to her family I am sure.
