Thursday 1-2 (that feels like a Friday)

Morning all (oops "afternoon" for those across the Atlantic). Yesterday felt a bit like a one-day weekend and now today feels, to me, like another Monday. LOL It seems the kids in the neighborhood ran out of fireworks by afternoon yesterday!! yay!

LOL, I totally hear you. Tuesday felt like Friday, Wednesday felt like Sunday. I'm looking forward to next week to get back on track!

I tried to start a thread in Rainbow Bridge, but it seems to have vanished. At any rate, I lost Buddy yesterday. When I got home from work on Tuesday, it was obvious he wasn't well. When I got up yesterday morning, he'd clearly deteriorated. I don't want to post here what a total cluster the whole experience was, but in the end, he crossed to the bridge and although I am heartbroken, I know I was blessed to have him for the time I did.

For those who don't know his story, he was a cat who got dumped at the shelter at age 12. I took him home 4-25-11.  Cats are hard to re-home, but he became comfortable within a month's time, and he was my constant companion and lap warmer. I will miss him.

    Run free Buddy.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear the news about Buddy. He knew love and caring in his senior years because of you and your willingness to adopt a senior. And what a beautiful boy he was!  Run free, Buddy (((hugs)))

    I'm so sorry, Tina.  ((((Tina))))

Oh Tina, I'm so sorry. but thank you for giving him a couple of really great years. Run free Buddy.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm actually feeling a little bored. I don't go back to work until next Tuesday and I'm getting antsy. I've watched  a few movies, read a couple of books and done all the DIY projects I can for now. The only thing left on my to-do list is deal with my files and I detest that job. I'll feel better once I do it, so maybe today...or tomorrow ;)

I went to Macy's yesterday because they were having a sale on bras. I must've tried on a few hundred before I found a style I liked. Blech!!!

I hope anyone in the path of this latest storm will be okay. Our weather is the same as it's been for the last month or more. Sunny but cold and no rain in the forecast. Drought news is sounding worse all the time.

Tina, ((hugs). So sorry about Buddy, but at least he knows he hit the Senior Cat Jackpot with you. Run Free Buddy! We got a dusting of snow but temps went from 52 to 12 overnight, burrrrr

((((Tina)))).  I'm so sorry.  Run free Buddy.  Your momma gave you love that will last forever.

I'm with everyone else on just not knowing what day it is.  While it's nice getting the break ONE week, two in a row just discombobulates my entire schedule.  But, tomorrow is the end of the week, then we'll have a weekend to get ready for a real week.  Altho, I bet next week will feel LONG!

So far our storm has been middling.  Just a couple inches of not plowed snow that make driving a major mess.  I'm working from home this afternoon since I've been having trouble finding clients actually IN.

Oh, no -- Tina, I'm so sorry to hear about Buddy.  And I'm sorry it was a complicated situation from what you implied.  I second what Kate said about how wonderful it was for you to have adopted a senior cat.  I know how common it is for adopters at our local shelter to prefer kittens and young cats.  You're a special person to open your heart and home to older pets like you have done more than once.  Sending hugs to you.

I'll be checking in tonight with my Mom in CT and my sister in Boston to see how they're faring with the snow.  Last night my Mom said she was preparing to stay home from work today if things got started early.  No sense driving in, only to have to leave a couple hours later.  At 70+, she's entitled to say, "Sorry, I won't be in today.  The filing will have to wait!"

Cathy, it's nice to "see" you.  We missed you lately.  Sounds like you're having a wonderful block of vacation . . . I'd love to catch up on lots of reading, movies, and miscellaneous projects at home.  I need a block of time beyond just a weekend to tackle all that kind of stuff.  Usually when I take days off, it's when we have company, so I don't get to focus on those things that never seem to get done.

One of those things is going through our closet and making a big bag of donations for our humane soceity's thrift store.  When I was getting the couple small Christmas decorations out that I put up this year, I found a tote of Halloween things that I've not put out in years.  That's one big bag I've got ready for donating . . . but I need an entire day to go through closets and cupboards.  I feel the need to purge!

aww very sorry to hear about Buddy :( He looks so soft and cuddly in that photo.

Cathy, go back to work for a day and the antsyness will go away in a hurry lol. I am ready for a day off already ;p

We have so much white fluffy powder. It's rare that it is so fluffy and powdery. Usually it is heavy and wet. This is the perfect skiing snow if it weren't for the sub zero windchills. There's a meet up group going cross country skiing this fri night and I would really like to go but dang! -20 below zero? ugh.

If anything, I am taking my snow blower in this weekend to get fixed. Finally. I wonder how long it'll take. Maybe I could pay them extra to do it in a couple of hours ;p

This has been the most real winter I've seen in a long long time. Can't say that I'm loving it much.
