Jackie, I can relate to your sleep woes . . . probably 2 or 3 times a week I have a night of frequent tossing and turning, yet sleeping SOUNDLY when the darn alarm goes off. So annoying!
I saw a thing on the news this morning about the problems that arise from lack of sufficient sleep and how your body is still producing the melatonin or whatever it is when you are trying to get out of bed after too few hours of sleep. But when alarms are going off at 5am or so, we'd have to go to bed at 8 or 9pm to get proper sleep. That just can't happen when there are other things you've got to do like work, eat, dog care, exercise, housework, etc.
Marty, it's nice to see you! Sounds like you'll have a busy group at your house. Having little kids around would make a holiday feel more festive. Enjoy!
Bummer about Buddy's breakfast "re-appearance," Tina. I think giving him the meds after eating is a good idea. I know antibiotics bother my stomach if it's empty when I take them.
Julie, I'm sure your friends are glad they can help you while your power is out. But, for your peace of mind, I hope the power is restored ASAP!
I'm at work today, but we'll probably have a short day. Tonight we're having dinner at our neighbors' house (the one who is an amazing cook and surprises us with dinner periodically). I know it'll be delicious. They have a wood fireplace and a cozy home with a cute little dog, so we'll have an enjoyable evening. I feel bad leaving Ruby at home alone, but she wouldn't be calm and cooperative if we brought her with us.
Have a relaxing and peaceful Eve, however you choose to celebrate it!
