Glenda, I remember cursing plows on a regular basis because they'd dump a bunch of snow at the end of the driveway about 2 minutes after we went inside after shoveling. So annoying!!!
My Mom said she got through storm #1 and was at work today, but was expecting to have to go home early tomorrow when storm #2 arrives. The nice thing about her job is that it's part-time and flexible, and as someone in her 70's, she has bosses who are more than happy to have her stay home or leave early to avoid driving in bad weather.
Doug, didn't you say something about retiring soon? I suggest pushing that date up a bit and avoiding one more cold winter working in the elements. I'm sure you've got a high tolerance compared to us fair-weathered folk, but geesh, my fingers and toes feel numb just thinking about your workday!
Got all my gifts wrapped and boxes shipped -- except one box going across country. I pulled into the post office this AM and the line of people was out into the lobby, so I decided to skip it. It'll be late anyway, unless I spend a fortune on priority shipping, so mailing it tomorrow is fine. I'll just tell my friend that they'll be able to enjoy opening gifts beyond just Christmas day!
Now I've got to get my Christmas cards in the mail. Good excuse to sit in front of the TV tonight and write envelopes. Sigh . . . I wonder what it feels like to be organized and prepared well in advance of the holidays???
