Good luck with the CGC test, Callie! I don't blame you for not being in the holiday mood. You've had way more on your plate this year than I have, and I'm not feeling all that festive either.
Enjoy the party tonight, Glenda. As someone who has spent years as the designated driver, I understand how obnoxious a too-drunk crowd can get sometimes when you're not drinking that much yourself!
Hope your poker winnings are sizable, Julie!
We've got the greatest neighbor. He and his wife are retired, and we really enjoy their company. They also have a cute little dog whom we love. The man is an amazing cook (I think I've mentioned some meals we've had at their house). Well, yesterday after I got home from work, he called and asked if I was "slaving over a hot stove preparing dinner." After I stopped laughing, I said no. He said he was making some meatballs and tomato sauce with some polenta, he wanted to share it, and would we like some for dinner? I said, "Of course - it sounds delicious!" He said, "Okay, I'll bring it over in 30 minutes." All we had to do was set the table. It was fantastic. Even better -- there was enough leftover for dinner tonight!
This is the same neighbor who is a very talented gardener. More than once, I have found him outside planting something in our garden that he has divided from his garden. He says he runs out of work to do in his yard, do we mind if he does things in ours? Uh . . . no?!?! His yard looks like a magazine spread. We're lucky to stay on top of basic lawn care and weed pulling. Anything he does is a major improvement to our landscape!
They have a new (first) grandchild who lives in another state. They're talking about moving there. I understand the love for their son and grandchild, but we must convince them to never move!
