Sorry about the last line of the last post. It seems that while paragraph breaks work in mobile Firefox, it won't let you type anything after the first paragraph. Finicky. Also the stay logged in function isn't working in either of the mobile browser s I've tried.

Anyway, back to chat: it's cold. And snowy. The roads are going to be interestin.

I need to get my heater fixed in my car. It is either on full blast or off. That means some part that I can't remember the name of needs replaced. I'm sure it will cost a fortune but having good solid continuous heat is kind of important ;p

Lily is loving her new Santa toy. She hasn't quit squeaking it all morning.

Mobile browsers are a particular issue for this and almost every other platform. We support all the major mobile browsers. This site works really well on IOS, for example and standard Android browsers should be ok too. The best experience is to be had from a tablet or a desktop/laptop computer. We'll be making future improvements on the mobile experience next year.

Julie, I'm with you.  Let's go someplace warm and forget work today...or all week!

I think I spent too much time outside decorating yesterday....and embracing the "Christmas" trees because I had the WORST coughing fit in the middle of the night.  3:51 and I'm up, trying to get the non-stop coughing to stop.  I finally took one of my "magic" pills, but really those are for non-productive coughing and this was anything but.  However, at that hour of the morning, I don't honestly care!  I just wanted it to stop.

We did a few simple, yet pretty, things outside, other than the two trees.  I'm not about to get into a contest of who can squeeze the most stuff into the yard.  Just wanted a little something.  For the past three years, our house has been "down the hill" so not easily visible from the street and decorating outside there was a waste of time.  DH really wanted to do something, so what the heck.  It is very pretty and if it makes him feel more in the holiday spirit, who am I to argue?

We have several days off later in the month....the 20th-27, back a bit on the weekend and Monday, and then two more days off for New Years.  I'm looking so forward to that and having an extended time period not to have to talk and let my voice heal, hopefully.  But, of course, on the other side of the coin, wow, I'm gonna have to bust butt to be in good shape for the off time.

I guess I can't put off getting ready for work any longer.  Hope everyone has a great day.  Stay safe all!

Glenda, sorry you had to deal with the coughing fit in the middle of the night.  I was awake from 2am until 4am, but just tossing and turning is nothing compared to coughing uncontrollably.  I hate that!  Sounds like you've got some nice decorations up.  I never did dig out any of my totes this weekend.  It may come down to a wreath on the door and that's it.

Still sub-freezing temps here.  It was 17 degrees on my drive in.  I know many areas of the country have far worse cold than this, but anything below 30 is highly unusual in this part of the state.  I know we'll lose several things in the garden (I've got a blanket over my Meyer Lemon tree, but I'm sure it's a goner).  And I don't see how all the hummingbirds will survive. Our neighbor told us the males were driving the female off the feeders in his yard yesterday, and she was so weak that she was teetering when she landed on anything.  We've got enough feeders in both yards for them to share, but those territorial instincts can't be stopped.  Sad

I can't believe it's just a little over 2 weeks until Christmas.  I haven't finished my shopping (we don't do a lot of gift-giving anymore, but we send a few things to 3 or 4 households).  As usual, I'll be spending too much to ship a couple boxes back east at the last minute.  Every year I think I'll be ahead of the game, but I never am!

WinkHi guys....made it in to work today.  Still very icy and not fun.  I must say that Hot Shot is lovin this weather !   He looks like a overgrown pup in the snow.  He just loves to roll around in the cold wet white stuff, lol, too bad I cant put a bit of shampoo on him and let him bathe himself

I didnt have time to catch up.  I hope everyone is safe and warm.

Never could get logged on thru my IE  had to go to Chrome :).

    Take care all.

Gin, glad you made it safely to work.  Icy roads keep me at home.  We're cold  (for us) and drizzly but mild compared to some of the country.

I  logged in with IE without a problem.

I slept terrible last night .

A policeman here was shot in the head during a pursuit.  He's alive but with traumatic brain injury.  I feel so terrible for him and his family.  He took a shift for another officer who needed off.  He's that kind of guy.   A K9 team caught the bad guys after they bailed from their car and tried to get away in a brushy area south of town.

My grandson, in grade 1, had his xmas concert tonight.  We drove for an hour (one way) on dark and icy roads, trekked through a detour  in a dark town with creative street designs, got there on time and watched  the K-1-2-3 graders put on a 35 minute concert.  Grandson and about 50 others were on for about 5 minutes.  One song by his group.  Yes, I will do it again, but I hope for at least 2 songs from his group at the spring concert.

The temp sensor on the car was hovering about 0º on the way home, with a ridge of ice near the edge of the lane.  A customer wants me to fix his hot tub tomorrow.  He actually wanted it today, but I took the day off just because.  I am planning on retiring this spring, but motivation is becoming a problem.  Conquering  the great outdoors is not as much fun as it used to be, and I am tired of doing what I am told when I am told when I really would rather play with my table saw and router.  I like saw dust.

Word is out about a church in the Duluth area that had to cancel their annual lutefisk feed.  There actually was a silver lining with this storm.  Fortunately they can toss the fish into any garbage can ., throw some lye on it and use it next year.

This has all the makings of being a long winter.
