    Saturday chat 11/23/2013

Gosh, I haven't started a thread in ages, and, of course doing so has changed and I had NO clue how to do so!

I switched my magnesium brand because the chelated stuff was causing issues.  Think I started the new ones Wed.  Last night the leg cramps kept waking me up....and waking ME up is not an easy thing to do.  Guess I'll need to increase the dosage on the new ones, much as I hate to deal with the "other" side affects......one of the other, and the other is better than not being able to sleep!Huh?

This is neat....just discovered that I don't have to go to rich formatting to add a smiley.  Guess that change cancels out the difficulty staring a thread.

I'm feeling VERY mindless today and envying those who get to go to the Farmers Market....not naming names, but Jackie comes to mind.  50 degrees would be pretty nice to stroll the FM!  Ours is done until next year.

I'm going to bake this weekend.  The guys must have all three breads....cranberry, zucchini and banana, and I also want to get my pies done...and well hidden in the freezer so that they don't vanish before Thanksgiving!  I have this incredible kitchen now and haven't had a chance to initiate it.  This weekend, it's gonna happen come heck or high water!

Hope everyone has a good day!

I hope you can get the magnesium dose figured out.  I used to take it for foot cramps at night but it didn't help me.

No going to the farmers market for us today.  It's in the low 40's and gloomy with occasional rain. There is always something good there but I didn't feel like walking around in this weather. DH is much worse than me about whining about the cold. lol  If the sun was out and the wind would settle down, I would be happy with the colder weather.

We did go to the office to get registered and set up on a website I'll have to  use for our new city contracts.  Adobe decided to act up so had to get that figured out first. DH did the figuring out.  :)  Three hours later we were done.  I'm lucky my DH loves that kind of thing.

Doing laundry now and contemplating lunch.

I just got back from doing laundry. We had ordered a washer and dryer when we moved that got backordered and in the meantime, going to the laundramat got to be a habit...and a lot quicker way of getting it all done without running up and down the basement stairs all day.  And, it gives me an hour or so to read, which is always a good thing.  Load per load, I actually think it's cheaper too.

Anytime I change brands I have to play with the magnesium a bit.  What I was taking is "chelated" which is supposed to mean that you have to take less, so I just have to play a bit with the dosage to get it right.  But, for the most part, magnesium works wonders for my muscle cramps.

I'm sorry you're missing out on the Farmers Market today.  Funny, my DH and DS are both absolute wimps about cold weather!  It's gotta be down in the single digits for me to pull out the heavy wool coat.  But, then, I normally wear a blazer so I've got more layers on.

Sorry you have trouble with leg cramps; I used to have them when I was pregnant and they're not fun. My doctor at the time advised me to take a calcium supplement for them. I hope you get the dose for the new brand worked out soon.

Been cleaning today and just finished making chile; it's in the 20's today with a wind chill of 14, so it's a good time to make it. I hope everyone has a good weekend and a great Thanksgiving!!!!

Between the laundry and the errands, I've just gotten back home, so will pull stuff out of the freezer for the breads and hit the kitchen first thing in the morning.  Baking time is happy time for me!

My calcium levels are really good.  But, the magnesium has trouble holding it's own, and did even before I was put on Prilosec  It'll level out soon, but thanks.

Is it just me or is this forum still not working properly. It is still slow for me and when I try to scroll, it's completely not smooth at all.....very choppy. Getting very discouraged with it and so here less and less. Are a lot of you on facebook as well?

    • Gold Top Dog

It's not slow for me, Maureen.  I don't have the choppy scrolling either.  I don't think they're completely through with the "upgrade".

I do think many of us are on FB.  I know I post there much more often than here these days and see many forum members there.  If the pm function was working properly, I'd send you my FB info but I don't think the pm is working.  I haven't tried to email anyone from this site lately.

I tried to email a couple weeks ago and it didn't work...haven't tried since though.

the forum isn't slow or choppy for me either.

I'm on FB, but don't go there very often.  Heck, I don't have much time to even come here.

I went to a farmers market today and it was only 36 out ;p I bought some honey Mead for a friend for Christmas that bears her name. No idea how it will taste as I'm not a wine drinker. I hope she likes it!

I also wander around Boulders pearl St mall. That was cool. So many unique shops and rare outdoor stores. I get discounts online at places like Patagonia, Kelty, go light, etc but never buy anything because I like to see the stuff before I buy. So this gave me the opportunity to get my hands on the goods. Try things on and so on. Then I can go buy online. I bought myself some cool necklace charms too. And bought my niece some gourmet dark hot chocolate (she can't eat regular chocolate because of the milk). I also found this coffee called "wake the F up coffee" hehe I had to buy that!

I then popped over to the State park that is near there and took a hike around the canyon. It was beautiful and made the day complete :) this was the first hike I have gotten in since getting here so I am soon happy now :)  it's always my mission to hike every time I travel to someplace new.
