    Celebration Sunday

Go Red Sox!!!  What a game...what a series!  And I was up way too late because of it, but, I'm so glad that I managed to stay awake for a change!  Yipeeeeeee!  ok, back to regular chat.

    Drinks  (sorry, couldn't resist)

Looks like we're going to have a pretty day.  Yesterday was gorgeous until late afternoon, then a quiet rain storm came in overnite.  How 'bout that?  POLITE weather!

It appears that TPTB are making progress on the forum....I was signed in when I got here this morning AND the smiley's and stuff are right on the page...I'm guessing that is what rich formatting is?  It's nice that they take our concerns seriously.

Guess I have to go bury myself in boxes again......hope everyone has a great day!

Not seeing the rich formatting icons (or smileys as Glenda calls them) unless I use rich formatting.  No biggie one way or another.

Gorgeous day here.  Lots of mulch to spread and a few plants to get planted.  I think we'll go walk on the river first. No point in wasting a pretty day.

Belle woke us up this morning.  Jumped on the bed wearing her cone and stuck her big cone encased face right into mine.  :)

The log in thing is random. I was not logged in this morning.

LOL at beers cone face in your face. Silly dog.

I'm supposed to go to my sisters for dinner today. Problem is I have to go to her city tomorrow for work. It's an hour drive so I am trying to figure out a way to just go tomorrow and do work then lunch or dinner instead. my

LOL at Belle and being woke up to a conehead pupster :)

Bright and sunny but chilly this morning. Once it warms up, I need to get more leaf cleanup done.

Worked Kibble and Bids last night and I'd say it was a huge success but it sure kicked my rear. I'd asked for a more active position than sitting at a table serving food like last year. The coordinator assigned me to keeping the water, iced tea and lemonade stations filled. Thankfully, she paired me up with a great partner but we rarely had a moment of rest for 6 long hours. My feet were killing me after the 1st hour or so and I was feeling grumpy that we couldn't taste any of the yummy foods or wine. Last year I was at the back of the venue, so I was able to sneak a little of each at the end of the evening. Not this year :(. It took me awhile to unwind, so it was a late night for me and I feel a little draggy today. I'm really glad I did it though. Walking around and seeing the Golden greeters reminds of you what it's all about.

Can someone come trim Shane's nails? He's not horrible for it but gets antsy after 2 or 3 nails. I usually only get 4 or 5 done before we've both had enough fun.

I have to go into work tomorrow for a meeting. I really hope I'll only have to stay for a few hours and not the whole day. I wouldn't even mind if it was a really productive meeting but they tend to go off topic quickly and often.

I share your excitement about the Sox, Glenda.  we had dinner at our neighbors' house last night, and they were flipping back and forth to the Oregon college games, so I only got to see the last 3 outs after we got home.  I missed the Grand Slam, but I was still happy!

Cathy, events like the one you volunteered at are a TON of work, but always worth it.  Our local shelter's annual dinner/auction is next weekend.  It's always near Halloween, so costumes are encouraged.  As always, DH has something rather gross and ghoulish planned.  I'm wearing a 1920's style outfit (not an actual character--just a vintage dress with a hat and a feather boa.  I knew I couldn't top my Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's last year, so I'm not feeling very inspired.  But we always have fun, so I'm looking forward to it.

I've been feeling crummy for a couple days --- like I'm fighting a cold.  I should do yard work today, but I think I'll sit on the couch and watch the Patriots game that just started.  Yard work requires too much energy, and I feel sluggish.

Sun is on the way after some fog clears, so that will help energize me later this afternoon!

Jackie -- I tell ya -- Belle has discovered **the POWER of the CONE** LOL ... and you gotta admire a dog who has it figgered how to hold her head HIGH enough so she can jump up on a bed!!  Way to go Belle!!!

David and I went to an afternoon production at the "Shakespeare Festival" (which does way more than Shakespeare) -- a one-man show of "the Diary of Jonathan Harker" (it was Mr. Harker's diary "sent" to Bram Stoker  that gave birth to "Dracula"??

I'm never much into horror but this was incredibly well done so we really enjoyed it.  The pups talked me into supper half an hour early ... I really was far more of a soft touch than usual! LOL

Tracy feel better!!  One afternoon last week I spiked a sudden fever at work of about 102 -- told my boss I was leaving early to go crawl in bed with my homeopathics and hopefully I would see him in the morning.  I know by the time I got home I had the worst fever I've had in years -- went to sleep sucking on homeopathic tablets (Engystol) and when I woke up 3 hours later my fever had broken.  I wish I could claim that happens with every cold, but it was definitely welcome this time.  But it wa a weird one -- no sore throat, sneezes, etc. -- just horrible achey muscles and joints and the fever.  but I did try to get some extra rest for a few days (and isn't that the hardest part???)

    Take care all --
