    Saturday chat 10-19

I can't tell if a thread has been started for today or not. I'm actually on my laptop instead of my phone and the layout is quite different (this website is so confusing sometimes ugh)

I woke up with tons of energy and got a bunch of stuff done around the house. Got dressed to go to the gym and run errands then sat down on the couch and bam...energy GONE! Now I just feel like a nap. I'm sure the wet cold weather has a lot to do with it.

I was poking around on the clymbe website this morning. Have any of you been there? They have like 1-2 day deals where stuff is 50% to 70% off retail. It is mostly outdoor gear but there are bags and shoes as well. They also have deals on organized adventure trips around the world. Much like rei adventures. I'm so tempted by their Malaysia trip they have on their right now. OMG it sounds like a dream vacation come true. Lots of jungle/river stuff. Visiting a primate rehab facility and so on. $2k though excluding air fare, but man is it ever tempting. I'm seriously going to do something like that one of these days. Which leads me to - I shouldn't be owning a house lol. I would so much rather put money into experiencing life than fixing a house. I'm terrible.

ok i better get a move on. days a wastin!

Julie, cold wet weather saps me of motivation too.  I hope you got going with your plans for the day.

Weather here is outstanding.  62 F with blue, blue skies.  I really enjoyed the fearful dog seminar I attended this morning.  Gabby was one of two demo dogs and she did great. I learned a lot and I think I'll probably schedule some private sessions with this trainer.  We have never had a true behaviorist available in our area so it's wonderful to have someone like her available.  This is the second seminar of hers that I've attended and I like her a lot.

I have to get outside today and do something.  It's just too nice to stay inside for any reason.

Bad side of the day and it's not that big a deal but...DH has decided to sign us up for Uverse TV.  He switches providers fairly often and I hate having to learn the new channel numbers. I know, I'm ridiculous. lol  It does have a neat interactive application for one of the cooking channels.  DH is never happier than when he's ditzing around with something new so this is all thrilling to him.  Me, not so much. lol

I swear that weekend days are shorter than any other days in the week.

I too had tons of energy this morning and got a LOT done, but then, after errands, blech.  I've have a TON of packing that needs doing but I'm having trouble kicking myself in the rear and getting to it.

Julie, I think it's perfectly reasonable to prefer to use funds on travels or other life experiences instead of putting it into house.  Everyone has different priorities, and I'm more like you on that topic.  I grew up living in apartments, so renting seems great to me, and I could get by on less space, no yard, etc.  But DH is big on homeownership, so we were in an apartment only 2 or 3 years after getting married.

Homeownership is not always the ideal investment we're often led to believe it is.   The related expenses eat up money you could use elsewhere, and as recent years have shown us (at least in this area), home values don't always rise the way we hope they will.

Jackie, sounds like a good seminar, as well as great contact for possible consults in the future.

Glenda, I don 't envy your packing tasks!

We've got another sunny day in the 60s, so we took Ruby downtown to walk a bit.  We sat outside at an eatery and shared a teriyaki beef wrap.  Ruby was intent on getting to the pigeons, so she wasn't' very calm while we ate.

I have tons of chores to do, but I sat on the couch and my energy went wherever yours went, Julie!

The Possible Snow Season is in full bloom.  We had cold rain and wind, followed by slush on the sidewalks, followed by hail, freezing rain, then followed by sunshine.  Uff da!!  Pulled the Carhardtt out of storage, dug out the gloves, got another blanket.  Don't think I need to test the snow blower yet.  Meanwhile, the fall colors are beautiful in the Minnesota River Valley.  And as a good sign of winter nearing, highway construction is slowing, even though rotaries are the devils invention.
