    Tgif 9-27

Trying to decide if I want to ride to work today or not. I am thinking not as its only 46 degrees out. That's kind of chilly for a bike ride and I don't really have any fall riding clothes. But I am feeling lazy making these excuses. There's no option for rich formatting so I hope pp breaks work. Sorry for the run on if they don't. I have lunch today with some ex coworkers. Should be fun. I'm a bit burned out lately. I think I need a real fly away vacation. Not just some weekend jaunt within driving distance. Too bad I can't afford it atm.

I rode my bike today. It was chilly! Had my hood up and my half-finger gloves on. Not many riding days left.

    Have a fun lunch, Julie!

Good vibes for your DH's test, Cathy.

This is the last weekend at the track for the season. I love the job, but feel really burned out this year.

Monday I have a mammogram and then I get the stitches out of my mouth.

Tina, Monday sounds like it's going to be worse than the average Monday. Take chocolate.

I'm on my own in the office again today.  It's nice and quiet. :)

A friend found a really beautiful GSD about a month ago.  The dog had no collar and wasn't microchipped.  She finally found a GSD rescue that had a foster home for him.  She was tempted to keep him and she's not a big fan of the breed.  He is that nice in temperament and appearance.  She already has seven dogs so the decision to get him to a rescue wasn't that tough. lol

Tina, Monday sounds like it's going to be worse than the average Monday. Take chocolate.

Which, of course, leads me right into the fact that it's National Chocolate Milk Day.

    Chocolate Russian
    8 oz Chocolate Milk
    1 1/2 oz  Coffee Liquour
    1 1/2 oz Vodka
    Whipped Cream

Mix the milk and alcohols together with ice, then strain and serve with a float of fresh whipped cream.

I don't care what anybody says or what emergencies arise  . . . I'm having a JamJam weekend.  This involves staying in my paJAMas and drinking lots of JAM cocktails all weekend.  I earned it  . . . and I'm doing it.

    Madam Geneva's Jam Cocktail

    Ingredients

    2 ounces vodka
    1 ounce lemon juice
    1 ounce simple syrup
    Crushed ice
Spoonful of raspberry jam  for stirring, plus another for garnish

    Directions

Depending on your taste and the sweetness of the jam you're using, you may consider omitting the simple syrup.

    1. In a shaker, add jam, vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, and several ice cubes. Shake briskly, then strain into a rocks glass half-filled with crushed ice.
    2. Float a spoonful of jam on top of the ice, and gradually stir it in to taste.

    Makes 1 cocktail.

Hope everybody has a great weekend !!

    Deb W.

Oh that chocolate drink looks decadent!!!

DH just left for his test. He and a coworker went together, so I think that might help ease the tension. I sure hope they both do well.

I'd been trying to get rid of a couch we didn't have room for since we moved into this house. First my boss said he wanted it and then DH's niece said she wanted it. Boss changed his mind and niece said they no longer had room for it. Finally DH's coworker wants it and will be taking it home after the test today. Yay!! Now I need to figure out to do with the space it occupies.

I have a hair appt at 4 today. Blech!! I only go every 5 weeks but it still feels like an expensive PITA.

From Yesterday:  I really enjoyed the Deb and Jackie comedy show :) Glad to hear that the puny pups are feeling better,  Good luck to Mr Cathy on his test,  sorry you are having so much software related stress....we are switching ours over in Jan. training has just begun so I may need your support or tissues then, Wink

Mom's surgery has been postponed to Oct 7th.  Apparantly they want some more pre-op tests before they do the surgery.  She is in her 70's and has MS so I think they just want to be double covered.  She is very disappointed needless to say.

Deb I love the "Jam" weekend idea.   Mostly tho I wanna have Choc Milk cocktails and lots of them:)

Tina, your Monday sounds like no fun, but getting all of that out of the way in one day is a good thing

I forgot to mention yesterday that I spent a good deal of time looking at those different links you suggested, Jackie & Janice (about the dog texts and auto-corrects).  Very, very funny!

Ginger, it's frustrating to get yourself mentally prepared for something like a surgery, only to have it postponed, but it sounds like it was good course of action for your Mom.

Sending good test vibes for your husband and his coworker, Cathy!

They're saying some heavy rain storms are moving in today and lasting all weekend.  It's already drizzling and rather cold (low 50's).  I'm feeling tired and on the verge of a headcold.  I'd love to have a slightly altered version of your JAM-JAM weekend, Deb.  Definitely some warm, cozy PJ's to wear, but instead of the Jam drink (which sounds good), I'd like to continue the chocolate milk day celebration and make it a hot cocoa for the weekend.  It'll be perfect weather for that!

Actually, I have to muster up some energy to go to a concert in Portland tomorrow night with my friend.  If you all promise not to make fun of me, I'll tell you who we're seeing . . . . . Hanson.  Yes, the three brothers of "MMMBop" fame back in the late 1990's.  They're all grown up now.  We're a bit old for the demographic of their major fans, but the show sold out, so apparently we're not the only dorks who bought tickets.

    • Gold Top Dog

Gah now I will be singing mmmmbop all day lol

    • Gold Top Dog

LOL - I loved that song. Have a great time Tracy!!

DH and his coworker were quite dejected when they got home and both said they'd be surprised if they passed. DH is always hard on himself, so I'm hoping he did better than he thinks. We'll know in about 2 weeks and in the meantime, I'll live with a sometimes worried, sometimes sad and sometimes hopeful husband. He will angst about it like crazy. Should be fun ;)
