    Yo peeps! It's Monday!

Deb I need a drink to think about please

So I just had an hour phone call with someone from the company I am working for - the other contract trainer isn't working out. Gulp. Fortunately the feedback for me is 'awesome'

I am fairly maxed out with hours though so I fear what this will mean for me

At least its sunny and pleasant out - summer has arrived here LOL We have the warmest week all year ahead of us with a swift change to cool for the weekend.

I took B swimming yesterday and he did 1.5+ miles of swimming. And was tired but the 5 minute car ride home was enough to recharge his batteries. Surprise He is a freak

Of course your feedback is awesome, Karen!

I have to sneak on here very briefly, with a tiny little box so that others don't snitch on me again - okay, I should only be working.  Quite frankly, they don't give me enough work to do.  Perhaps I can help Karen remotely.

Thunderstorms and rain giving way to high 90s today.  Ugh.  LM had an awesome morning right up until he stepped on Morrison's front leg and then we had a chat about caring for animals.  It made him pretty sad and made me feel bad but that is an important one.  Morrison is absolutely fine - also a freak.

LM is wearing a "uniform" to school this year and it finally arrived so he went to school appropriately attired today.  Yes, I took a picture which Morrison photobombed.  :)

    Have a great day, all!

Looking forward to a photo of LM in his uniform!!

Poor Morrison and LMAO about the photo bomb and 'freak' status.

Gosh Sarah if you are a trainer/facilitator relocate for a bit! They need someone NOW - actually I don't know what is going to happen - I think they said they are meeting at 11 today to figure something out. I am a bit anxious about what this means for me, both short and long term.

BTW I am working from home today which is lovely. I have no office space there so when I am not training and am trying to do any work its much better to be here. Now if I could jail break their laptop in order to be able to use my own monitors and printers I would be much happier.

Karen, I think we're going to have to come up with our own drinks.  Deb says her 'puter locks up on her when she tries to navigate the new forum format.  :(  Hopefully, she's not drinking all our drinks! lol

I'm all for a hard apple/ginger cider this evening.... or a spiced rum, lemonade and lime... or dark rum and coke....

Yeah, starting to feel very cruddy and I can see myself crashing early, after an appropriate amount of rum.

I'm feeling cruddy too. I'm just super tired and not sure why but my lower back aches. I have a vet check-up appt for Shane at 3, so maybe a nap before that will help. I honestly think it was sweating like crazy yesterday at the HB picnic that took it's toll. I'm just not good a staying super hydrated.

The picnic was really nice and there were only a few minor scuffles in the dog park. I was probably one of the most hypervigilant people in there but I know what can happen when no one is paying attention. The scuffles were usually because too many dogs were trying to lay down close to each other and near the humans.

We have someone coming by soon from the water district to talk about the trees that back up to our property. They own all the land behind us and the previous owner said they're very helpful. There's one tree that's dead and leaning on our fence, so we're hoping they'll remove. There's another one that huge and gorgeous and DH wants them to top it. I understand his concerns but if they do, it will change our view dramatically and not for the better.

    I miss Deb! :(

I miss Deb and her drinks, too (and I'm a light-weight!).  I also miss everyone else who hasn't been around much since the format change -- Sandie, Lisa, Jen, Kate, and several others whose names are escaping me at the moment.  I hope all is well with all the "peeps" and their extended human and canine families!

I had a busy weekend.  My mother and our friend arrive tomorrow, so I did the White Tornado cleaning routine.  Since we need both spare rooms to be guest ready, I had to tackle the room that is basically a storage room (with a twin bed in there somewhere).  I had to find space for all kinds of large things that collect there:  extra dog beds, old bed pillows, a huge yoga/exercise ball, empty boxes for future mailing needs, etc.  My back was killing me last night after all the floor scrubbing, ladder climbing, and hauling of items up and down stairs.

Our local shelter had their first "Yappy Hour" on Saturday night.  It was outside, and they had 2 playgroups in the fenced areas (one labelled for "dainty" dogs, the other for "rowdy" ones).  My friend and I went together and DH came with Ruby in his own car in case he wanted to take her home early.  We ended up staying for a couple hours -- it was really fun.  They served a local microbrew, hotdogs, cookies, salty snacks, sodas, etc.  They had a couple booths with canine massage, a mini-photo shoot, an animal "communicator," etc.  Also some agility equipment to try (with supervision).

It was aimed at adopters and their dogs as a "reunion" of sorts, but everyone was welcome, so it was a big crowd -- much larger than expected for the first one.  Ruby used to love playgroup there, but she wanted out within a few minutes --- finding us on the fenceline and trying to jump/climb it.  It's weird -- she used to love romping with a bunch of dogs, but she seems to prefer just one playmate at a time now.  But she ran the agility equipment we learned in June, and she got her photo taken.  She got a little snarky with a couple dogs who got too close as we were mingling in the crowd, but DH moved her away and she settled down okay.  She's not a dog we can relax with at events like that, but we were pleased she did quite well.  Hopefully they'll do another one, but they may run out of dry season very soon!
